Guess I can't amend or edit the first post so below are two additional YouTubies on the original subject and builder/pilot. These are a little redundant, but they add an amount of good information and color.

Another quick video of the Draco arriving at Oshkosh. I would recommend starting at the 6:10 point in this 10 minute video. Anything before is just the miscellaneous travel scenes (not that interesting) . At the 6:10 point you can watch the cold start up of the Draco's turbine, followed by a take-off, flight into Oshkosh and landing on the scene.

Link below is Draco in action out in the wild. Interesting STOL performance in high elevation country. There is a surprise bit of action at the end of the day when hangaring the Draco.

When you smash your airplane pick it up, put it in a corner for a while, and then go back and rebuild it better than before...…...see last 5/6 seconds of this video.

Mike is building a different radical plane from various parts (Not Draco's) , but he briefly discussed DRACO's status 24 1/2 minutes into his most recent YouTube video. Here is a screen shot of one of the biggest Draco pieces: ........Can't wait for the restoration.

At first I thought this video was about Mile Patey's new project "Scrappy", but check out the first 5 minutes (all about Draco II). I'll keep this thread on the Draco concept so just FYI, several Scrappy Project YouTubes can be found, well, on YouTube, etc.

Here is a longer video detailing a lot of Mike Patey's history including his major projects. The part pertaining to Draco and its eventual successor DRACO X can be found starting at the 17:05 point and lasts until 23:17. I clipped a graphic of what he intends to do when DRACO X is transformed out of a second Wilga that Mike was able to find (See picture). He mentioned he is going from 680 horsepower to 1,000 horsepower the second time around!!!

A Draco X update was announced in this video filmed at this year's EAA Air Adventure.
Go to the 16:00 point to hear Mike talk about Draco X. It is moving forward! He did state he is looking at a 5 bladed prop to be able to absorb all of the planned power. The whole video is 22 minutes long and a lot of various Patey activities and projects were discussed.
