RE: Year end Review
"eye opening post, within this forum, about AMA or its workings "
finding out here that
the stuff said by Muncie on the AMA's own board was absolutely always 'unofficial',
that was a real eye opener
a close second
was the ama fan swearing up & down that AMA had 'zero voice' & 'no voice whatsoever' to the faa (arc committee)
my third place pick would be
reading the announcement that AMA was going to hire 2 guys, one being an actual lobbyist so we can actually start lobbying

More than one name on that list of ARC members are questionable to me. Then again, probably just my prejudice against certain organizations speaking.

That they were included, yes. Again, probably just my prejudices against certain groups speaking. I'm sure there were valid reasons for them to be included.

RE: Year end Review
Hey guys,
we were getting some good responses... if you guys would like to discuss the ARC I think that would be great but I would appreciate it if this thread could stay clear of debates of this or that and just allow us to put forward some things/posts that we might have found particularly memorable over the course of last year...
Thanks.

I think it is appropriate to have some discussion about the nominated posts and that doing so does not take away from the thread.

Once again, I'll ask that you refrain from debating another posters choice of most memorable for him...that is not something that is up for debate...
Now, if you want to start a thread with voting capabilities, by all means do so... but I'll ask you to respect the intent I have for this thread.
Once again, thanks for you understanding and cooperation.

but some other eyeopeners would have to include-
AMA giving up on the "No Metal Blades No How No Way" decades old (and much worshiped) policy
... nobody saw that one coming

I disagree... These posts aren't nominated... there will be no vote as I didn't intiate such. Yes, these things seem to always spiral out of control and crash.

If you go back and actually read my posts, I have not debated debated their choice of most memorable post, at all. I have simply added some information pertaining to the subject of one of posts that was nominated as most memorable and asked a question of a follow on poster. I am sorry you have issues with that. I still feel my posts are not out of line.
I will agree to not debate anyone about their choice of most memorable post in this forum, but if questionable or distorted facts are presented. I may chose to respond.

Look Thomass,
I asked for individual person's opinions... not a nomination... period... your interjection of anything similar to a nomination process in this thread is out of order... An opinion is just that... post yours but allow others theirs.
If something here spurs something you would like to debate or discuss further please start a thread on that topic...DANG!

I'm not responsible for the content of other peoples posts,
contesting that content should be done / have been done in those threads when they were current / pre-deletion.
And the point that they posted something really outlandish as AMA facts
is part of what makes those outlandish posts so memorable.
LCS asked for
"eye opening post, within this forum, about AMA or its workings as it relates to its future within the hobby."
I gave some,
CP gave it a shot,
Vicman contributed his,
even 804 referred to a set of posts on AMA getting tough (close enough to topic in my book)
guys, just refer to some posts about AMA that made you say 'Wow' when you read it,
no need to try to refight every thread all over again

The fact is someone posted something.... nobody here said the posts we refer to are in any way accurate in THEIR statements?

Dang, I forgot how unimportant my opinion is.
Put me in my place, you did. LOL.

In your opinion, what is the most eye opening post, within this forum, about AMA or its workings as it relates to its future within the hobby?

The relatively large numbers hitting on the "Oh-my-gosh" type posts along with the relatively large numbers of what I consider rather unlearned responses, are also very definitive of a membership that will not provide any help to the current decline in AMA as either or both an aeromodeling-association-spokesman, and/or a declining Leadership Organization. This forum evidences a sad time for the AMA, and for organized aeromodeling. [:@]
