Default family memberships

I renewed my own membership, then added my son as a family member. AMA web site happily took my money. My card came in the mail immediately, nothing for my son. How does the family membership work? Do we get separate membership numbers? Do we get separate cards? I understand we only get one copy of the magazine.

Renewals might be faster than processing a new member...I predict your son's card will follow in a bit.

Your best response will most likely be from:

http://www.modelaircraft.org/aboutam...n/hqstaff.aspx

If your son is under 19 years age then you may have saved a buck by not using the family membership plan which is $30 and no second magazine.

In 2012, all youngsters under 19 at June 30th are free memberships and the membership is good until they reach Open Age class.
That places those under 15 +/- AS OF NOW, in the "3 years prior AMA membership" rule and elgible for the scholarship program.

It's a darn good deal!
