Maybe the AMA should have asked the USUA for guidance .
Maybe you should have suggested it to them. I just read in another post that the AMA is an insurance company so how would they know about the USUA? Does USUA sell insurance too?

Here's something to mull over.
Did the AMA know for awhile that this was not going to pan out in our favor? They painted a pretty picture of how it was going with never a hint of anything going south on this.
Was that the reason for the "deal" on renewing at the old rate?
Not a conspiracy theory Just something to think about.

Really? Did you not see the thread that suggested new leadership?
Suggesting and actually occurring are two different things. In order for that to happen folks need to step up and run for office. Has anyone new announced their candidacy for office? Not saying it can't happen, just saying it requires action, not talk.
IMO that would be a good start. The AMA itself is not broken, no need for monumental change, maybe just a fresh perspective.

Based on an email I just received, where they told me essentially that DOT walked in and declared what the solution would be, it certainly appears they knew. If so, then the renewal at old rate before the announcement does sound fishy. Especially when you look at their IRS 990 forms through 2013 and see that in constant 2013 dollars their membership dues were decreasing between 1 and 6 percent every year.
