Default AMA HQ

Well, AMA HQ has visited Chip's poll/thread. I saved the web page, printed it, scaned it, and finaly came up with a format that worked for uploading. Thanks JR for alerting them. It's great to know that they care enough to get on RCU.

Assuming facts not in evidence!

I do know who the individual that has the screen name AMA HQ is (not gonna tell though ). I have not contacted that person in any way for about a year. If you watch, you will see the names of several HQ members represented from time to time. Believe it or not, others do write to the AMA staff and EC, on occasion, about posts here.

There was a time when the EC members and the HQ staff watched this forum for good ideas more often then they do now. Too many personal attacks and name calling. Off topic posts are normal in a forum like this, the attacks are not. Attacking ones ideas, and discussing them, is one thing. To just plain make nasty posts is another. This forum has always been contentious.

Interesting point by exeter acres. Way back, someone took Dave Brown's name and made some posts on RCU. RCU has shut the identity down. Dave Brown even made a point of putting the information in the EC minutes that he had been falsely represented here. Do not assume what you see is what you get. The same is true of Quique. If he had not made other posts, it would not have been possible to I.D. him as being here in this forum.

That's almost funny. The answer lies in past posts in this forum.

When the jet guys had concerns with AMA rules, they were here in force. Once the rules were resolved, they went back to the jet forum in droves.

When the profile guys had a problem with "rule 9" of the AMA Safety Code, relative to tail touching, they were in this forum in numbers. When it was resolved, they left. Actually, a lot went and started their own fourm apart from RCU, but, that is another story.

We have seen it several times. Unless your bull is being gored, you tend to ignore things. Only 5% of the AMA membership voted in the last election.

The only reason most SIG members come here is because some on the AMA staff and some of the EC watch what happens here, and are unlikely to see the posts elsewhere on RCU. When their point is made... or lost... they leave.

Then there is a small core that posts here often... fools all, I think

Lighten up guys. Since JR is a frequent poster it seemed obvious to me that he wasn't calling all posters fools, but had his tongue firmly in his cheek.

You really need to learn to read between the lines that were not there or YOU wind up taking the wrong things too seriously. In English there is a term called a double entendre`...

This is a case where I was pointing a finger. In all such cases, when one points a finger, three are pointed back at one's self. Sicnce I probably have as many posts in this forum as anyone, that makes me the biggest fool.

I have often tried to correct opinions with facts. That often makes me less than beloved. Only rarely do I attempt humor, as I did here. Now you know why.

This is a VERY accurate statement. I will freely admit to this, but I have one quality that I hope the rest of this core group has also: I learn from my mistakes.

Sincerely,
Woops

Mistakes? I don't make freaking mistakes! That fuselage was designed to be growing out of the ground so there is nothing to learn.

As a new RC flyer, I can now state that I have come up with the perfect fuselage design. It's exclusively designed to float at a 40 degree angle in any body of water, with just the right amount of glow fuel leaking out. I have applied for a patent on this design!

Sounds wonderful, but what does that have to do with this thread?
