Just wondering what can be learned by asking if someone is a member of AMA in an AMA forum???

So far what has been learned is 336 RCU subscribers say they belong to AMA. Must be of some importance to OP because he keeps bumping it back from oblivion.

That does seem to be a low number especially in light of the length of time this poll has ran...after all it started in 2008...how long will it continue????

It seems to have no purpose...

One thing I guess we might discern is that even though this poll mined in the richest vein for AMA member input it seems to indicate AMA member numbers are insignificant, especially when compared to the number of RCU members.

This poll is self defeating....since it is of no value, many viewers would scan the title and move on without batting an eye.

At risk of actually posting an on-topic reply (and of making myself a target for some here who seem to have it in for the AMAand its members)...

Yes. Proudly and gladly an AMAmember. Was a long time ago, took a break from the hobby, now back.

I'm sure a simple, yes I am a member would suffice. Why throw in the scat comment when all you are doing is attacking imaginary people? Or do you
have names of such people? Seems the thread was positive to neutral until your comment...

As for the topic. Yes, I am a member.

Arbo, sorry for being confrontational. Apologies all around. Just got my wife out of the hospital after major surgery and have been a bit...touchy, to say the least. Should really know better than to post when I'm out of sorts.

Tarasdad,
Sorry about the wife. Pray all is well and that she is on the mend. To say sorry on one of these forums is rare. You are as they say, A GOOD MAN FOR THAT. Enjoy your comments on many issues. Take care.

Just voted yes, because I just got my card in the mail today. I'm feeling a little more proud about it than I probably should be.

I voted NO.

I'm not afraid to say I hate the AMA and besides my hard work and money has given me more than the AMA could in a million life times.

Just curiosity ................ if you hate the AMA so much......................

Whywould you come to this forum? How can a national organization for toy airplane enthusiasts rile you so much that you would choose to go where they tend to congregate?I'm not implying you shouldn't be here I am just curious as to why you wouldspend timehere.

This is an RCU forum area "about the AMA" not "for AMA members".
I am glad it isn't just AMA members, lots of different views here.

As an RCU member, I thought I had the right to share my opinion and thoughts on any topic other than, religion, politics, sex etc...\

Did I say something I didn't have the right to say?

According to RCU's policy I'm in the clear, am I wrong?

If people don't like my opinions and thoughts, then they can look the other way.

The AMA is not a recognized religion in the USA.
Yes, you do not have to be an AMA member to post here and share your thoughts.

1. Most toy airplane enthusiasts do not belong to the AMA.
2. The AMA has power over the RC aircraft hobby.
3. Knowing what the AMA is up to is important to non-members.
4. They are giving the AMA an oportunity to convince them to join.

I bolded the pertinent text for you this time. Yeesh. You guys sure do wear your feelings on your sleeves! I was just curious as to why you guys feel it is neccessary to come to a forum dedicated to AMA to bash the AMA. What deep underlying logic drives the hate and vitrol? There are plenty of organizations I don't care for but I don't go to a forum to snipe and pick at them. Please leave out the "I'm trying to change it"mumbo jumbo. If you want change, you do it from within.

I really don't care what you say or how you say it. I just wonder why. What is your purpose and goal for spending time writing about something you obviously hold in such low regard?

If you don't care to answer, well, that's to be expected, and is often the case when someone is asked to explain a position and are forced to confront their true motives. If you do care to take a little time for introspection then please do.

I am an AMA member and think it needs to follow the educational purpose for which it was created and still receives tax exempt status. It has become a flying competition organizer and inurance underwriter/provider.
If that is "bashing" then I guess I am bashing it.
I would "bash" a church if they mostly organized socials and rarely held services.
