RE: dawning of the new days
Right On Mongo. However in this day and age and with the way things go with some of the younger generation, such could be anything. Back in my days of 1:1 scale,
I took slight evasive action to bypass many bunches of balloons up to 12000 ft above ground level, birds at up to 20,000 ft MSL, and took bird strikes up to 18,000 ft MSL. Never considered complaining to the Air Traffic Control. I remember one time that I pulled up off a low-level run right into a tremendous flock of geese, and there were geese all around the canopy. HA! Not one touch on the jet. Edited to add: That "no touch the jet" was not my "skill", it was simply that I failed to properly clear my area. MY BAD could have been the last one. Lesson learned AGAIN! [:-] Some folks just get a tad too much concerned about natural activities. At 8000 ft in the Denver area, it could easily been a big bird, eagle or such. That is very low over Denver. These new pilots are so concerned with their instrument flying that very few ever look outside the cockpit. Rather sad. |
