You guys are a hoot.
If you don't have a Facebook account then you find out when the release goes out. As for Randy counting ballots, I"m not even going to dignify that. Even Frank Tiano accepted the results of the presidents election without any talk of it being rigged. Mike |
Oh, no not at all.
The post was just intended to fill you guys in on the results. |
My post about putting info out on FB was meant in total seriousness. These days, it seems like everyone is almost required to get a FB account just to keep up with the various organizations just because the people that are tasked with putting out info think it's an easy way to do so. I got into it in another forum over videos being posted on FB of an event run a few weeks back. I was told to "Get an account if I really wanted to see the videos and quit my *****in" by someone that thinks they are important. I personally don't have to desire or the time to look things up on FB every time someone thinks the information they are posting is important enough to need posting so that everyone can see it. Just send a blanket email or post the information on the organization's web page(if it has one, in the AMA's case, we know they do) since it takes no more time to do either one of these options than it does to post on FB
|
I'm sure they will send out an announcement.
The most likely scenario is they called him and told him he won, he got very excited and posted it on FB. Announcements from HQ are typically a day or so behind. Think about it, you saw it before anyone that doesn't have FB or RCU (a form of social media) so you're still ahead of the game. |
You could be right but, without talking to him, who knows

Not sure what your implication is other than more people voted for him.

The candidate backed by Hanson & Fitch won ... go figure. This brings to mind some lines from Casablanca:

It does nothing but undermine the trust in fair elections when people with inside knowledge of results are calling candidates before the results are posted.
I wish the same people that are providing early notice of results put the same effort into making sure the AMA completes and posts reports in a timely manner. 2016 Financial Report: Not posted until 10 months into 2017 (and not until I asked about it). Excuse: "It was supposed to have been posted in July." 2016 Insurance Summary: STILL NOT POSTED, 10.5 months into 2017. 2016 Medical Claim Summary: Also was not posted until 10 months in 2017 (and not until I asked about it). No excuse offered. 2016 Fire Theft Vandalism Summary: STILL NOT POSTED, 10.5 months into 2017. Excuse: "We're working on it." 2015 Fire Theft and Vandalism Summary: Final numbers still not complete, 22.5 months past end of 2015. No excuse offered. |

What makes you think it's OUR magazine? It doesn't appear so to me.

Fact remains both used their columns in OUR magazine paid for with OUR dues to help Randy and belittle his opponent. How is that twisting anything?

The twisting was in reference to the guy getting a call that he won the election before the entire world was notified. Who cares. He posted it on his facebook on Wed afternoon. Thursday morning the blog is posted. I don't see where that's an issue.

Guess there's a indoor flying site in our future that a majority of the members will never see or use. Mike |

This wasn't a grade school student body president election. This was an election to pick who makes decisions involving millions of dollars. Calling folks before formal results are posted is unprofessional and undermines integrity of the process.

I see no problem at all with the election results being shared at the end of the election with anyone including the candidates. Why would it matter to anyone in what order they were shared- as long as they are available to everyone. Some people get upset when they are not in the know FIRST- which is really nothing about the election results; rather a character defect because their EGO was bruised-
|
Jim, let me ask you a question:
IF you lived on the WEST COAST and were planning on voting in a presidential election, would you vote if the results were posted in mid afternoon? For the east coast, the election would be over so they don't want to wait for the results so the results are posted as soon as there appears to be a winner. For the west coast, some still haven't voted and are now being told their vote means nothing. Same thing applies to the AMA officer voting. IF you were a candidate running for an office and heard from your opponent they had won THE DAY BEFORE the official results were posted, would you want to BELIEVE everything is on the up and up? THAT'S THE POINT SOME ARE TRYING TO MAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, is it fair that some, already in office, use company printed documents to help someone win an office? Again, that smells of corruption and vote tampering and, again, the defeated candidate would be well within their rights to question the results |
