AMA preview DVD
Did anyone else get a preview DVD in the mail from AMA? I got volume one of the Ultimate Model Aeronautics Video Library in yesterday. I skimmed thru what seemed to be a previewed and scratched DVD...it's not bad collection but the video quality in some of the segments were questionable. Don't know if I'd spend $9 for the video when similar footage is available free on the net....just my 2 cents.

You may want to check the thread "Some here already know me" it's about the "free" DVD.

RE: AMA preview DVD
I marked mine "refused" and put it back in the mail box. I don't have a DVD player in the first place. Anyway, when I got the first dunning letter, I called the listed number and talked to a nice person at the AMA library, whose salary is paid out of our dues, and got my self removed from the dunning/mailing list.

I got it and I found it to be educational and entertaining. On my Coin I got a P-51... hope they make the Me-109, FW-190 or the Fokker Dr-1, Fokker DVII in the future. I'm thinking of getting more... so I'll be sending them the $9.00 to get another one.

RE: AMA preview DVD
I was about to post a thread about this myself.. why the hey are they sending us DVD's that we have to send back if we don't pay for them? Is that even legal? Not to mention that the video quality is the bottom of the barrel and production values are somewhere between crap and supercrap. I mean, the AMA is supposed to be the leading representative of RC modelers, right? They could do better than that... I wasn't even going to open the letter I got with the DVD. Glad I did, otherwise I'd be REALLY upset when I got a bill for it... This does NOT make me happy.

RE: AMA preview DVD
It was a welcome surprise for me, I agree that it wasn't a first class production, but plenty good enough to impress me. I've never seen the giant scale models in action before. I don't plan on buying any of the other DVDs, but a local club would have the complete set to loan out anyway.
