Buddy box program

Just wondering how many people have actually received their buddy box from AMA yet. I signed up in February and still (17 weeks and counting) have not received anything about it and everytime I have contacted them have gotten very short replies like, soon or its in the works. I have to wonder what the heck is going on or are they that poorly managed? I guess I will give it a little longer and then consider it fraud and ask for a refund and spend my money else where.
Thanks all,
Billy

I wouldn't blame you for asking for your money back but AMA typically does not make refunds on membership dues. As for as "fraud" is concerned I can personally guarantee they have not tried to defraud you about the free buddy box. Many people hear have gotten theirs. I personally feel that they are agonizing slow since the newbie is very anxious to get started. AMA should realize this and should have some means to expedite and insure the new member would have a better perception of them...oh well...

Claiming Fraud on something offered free?

I'd like to see a business that would give you back membership fees.

I may agree that it was mis-managed and under-estimated by the AMA staff.

Actually I'm guessing you ordered the Airtronics version. Unfortuantely Airtronics had a major problem with their supplier in Japan. I'm not sure what happened however it has taken several months to get the first shippment from them. Airtronics has worked with us very hard to assure everyone gets what they ordered but is has taken much longer than anyone anticipated.

If you have any questions at all call Tom Schwyn at 765-287-1256 ext 273 he will be very happy to help you.

Actually I was refering to the 8.95 shipping I had to pay for the "free buddy box" and I did request the JR version. I guess it just really frustrates me that after several e-mails I am still not getting any answers. As far as the fraud is concerned, I feel that if some is offering somthing to entice you to spend your money with them and then don't go through with their end of the deal then it is fraud. (no I am not an attorney and didn't stay in a Holiday Inn Select last night) :) I do tend to wonder though, if they have this much trouble with a "free" give away, how much problems would I have if I had to file a claim or something.

I joined the AMA in February like you and I finally recieved my JR Buddy Box last Wednesday. Overall, it took 17 weeks for me to finally get mine. My training is almost over so I'll finish with this buddy box and hold onto it to use with my daughter. She wants to learn to fly and she's only 9 so we will begin training with one of the club trainers soon.

Ditto. They cashed my check in February, and I just got my buddy box a couple of days ago.

The sad part is, I'll still be able to use it because I haven't had much time to fly yet.

Edit: Mine was a JR.
