I have been concerned for a long time about how long it would take before we get a wary eye cast our way.

I will cause problems shipping The Big toys we fly.....
to jet events ,
the scale masters and so on,
but hopefully not to much.

I would be hard pressed to put a high end radio in "the check in baggage" though,
sure to cause a call from TSA.

No need to panic.... they should have been watching this more closely anyway.

I travel with sailplanes a couple of times a year, I do not think it will change a thing. I send my TX in my bag in my TXcase, and have never had an issue. Just makes this mute.

Oh, damn. I carry the Tx interface for my simulator in my computer backpack all over the world. I get hammered by the TSA at every U.S. airport I go through already. I really didn't need this.

TSA is rarely consistant in their enforcement....

I flew with a keychain pocket knife going east,
had to throw it away on the return trip home.

No kidding. I travel a lot, and have yet to actually put all my "liquids, gels, and aerosols" into a ziploc bag, much less take it out of my carry-on for screening. Even in PHX where there is this one TSA guy who is constantly yelling out that you "must" remove said items from your bag or you will get the extra screening.

That surprises me about the pocket knife though, my guess is the western TSA official just missed it.

I travel pretty much weekly and it varies from airport to airport. The other day I came through Portland and when I was in line to go through at the airport not only didn't they check my bags for gels, they forgot to get my id at all. I walked through and didnt show anything. They let me walk right on through. They had a situation crop up with a lady and many kids and they missed quite a few folks.

Then I had the opposite where I got checked twice, and they checked all my bags like crazy, guess where that was? Yup...Portland.

So the consistency is not all that great.

Australia, Israel, Germany, England, and the U.S. are probably the heaviest on airport security. I've been through a few countries where if it wasn't loaded it was no problem, and nothing else really mattered. BWI and SMF are two in the U.S. that are a pain in the butt.

TSA Security is a joke-hamburger flippers to security specialist in a few short weeks, there is no consistent patterns which is good I guess but it is more like mass confusion than a level of professionalism-I went thru the security line at STL four times after a flight cancellation with a delay of eight hours, had one carry on bag and the bag contained one large aerosol deoderant and a 16 oz water bottle that had never been open-it was not confiscated until the forth pass-I was not aware that deoderant in large cans were prohibited which is my fault and I was not trying the system just did not read the instructions. But I wonder what the screeners will say about rc models-it will be ok in some airports with some screeners but not ok with some other screener- but watch out if you have a connection you may have to leave your bird behind-I have seen first hand if you try to discuss this with the screener-they take any discussion as a threat and hide behind the excuse of "FOR THE TRAVELING PUBLIC SAFETY" -if they get excited about deoderant cans and water bottles they probaly will be ORGASMIC about rc transmitters and recievers :)

I don't think there is really a problem with it. It's funny just how quickly people forget what can happen when you don't have tighter secruity on board planes. But I do doubt they'll ever push this one through. You can turn anything into a remote control device that is electronic. So if they push this one they'll have to ban anything with a circuit board and a battery. I mean do they actually think a terrorist is that stupid to carry on a RC remote to detonate a bomb? He might as wear a red flag on his head while he's at it.

This watch would do the job just fine and not be so obvious.
