Any VP or AVP's post here?
I have some questions I would like to ask, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to answer them. If so, send me a message with your email, and I can ask them off forum. They aren't anti AMA questions. Just some questions about how the decision process of AVP's work. Thanks!

RE: Any VP or AVP's post here?
Your DVP for Dist. IX is Mark Smith.
Here is a link to the Dist. IX web site. http://www.amadistrict-ix.org/ and his E-mail mailto:[email protected] Every VP I have talked to was more than willing to answer any question posed to them. Very few VP's post here as any statement they make is blown up, Cut up, taken out of context and used to support dissagreements on both sides of any issue. I do not blame them for not answering questions on this forum. |

So many want everyone to just say "How Nice, Thank You for being so great." IMO, it's either Lead, Follow, or get the _ell out of the way. Hi Hoss,
I agree completely, I am a newly appointed AVP for District 1. Disagreements are always going to happen and not everyone will be happy, but, IMO it is how the individual handles the dissagreement and himself that is the difference. I cannot stand the well I'm a volunteer atitude...professionalism is NOT a paygrade!!!! If one signs on to do a job and to take on responsibility he ought to put forth his best effort and conduct himself in the utmost professional manner because that is what the job requires regardles of PAY or VOLUNTEER status. I own a retail establishment, all my customers get the same service regardless of their purchase, and I put forth the same effort in any job I take on regardless of pay. I am in another volunteer organization that constantly deals with people using the "hey I don't get paid for this" attitude and at last weeks meeting I asked two people to leave based on their attitude, to a rousing round of applause. The people applauding do not have an attitude of I need to be paid to do a good job. they do a good job because it is in their heart and their mind, they are professionals!! |

I have to agree with Gunfighter; RCU is a great place for valuable information; but it is also a place that attracts people wanting nothing else but to vent at just about anything, the AMA is certainly not immune to criticism, in many cases VPs and AVPs post regularily on their district's Web Sites; however, seldom does the majority of the members in the respective districts even bother to visit their districts web sites; VPs and AVPs publish their Emails and are approachable in this respect as well as posting replys on their District Web Site postings.

Is it your position that AVP's and VP's should post responses here? It is MY position that an AVP or VP is free to choose the method of communication, and free to select (or avoid) a specific venue, RCU or other. If you'd like to clarify, I'll read. Thanks, Dave Olson |

RE: Any VP or AVP's post here?
This thread has gone a bit out of control. Many of the last posts were off topic and didn't really apply to the original question. I've removed the off topic posts and I'm locking the thread down.
