AMA Notes
Just to whett your appetite for a few of the things the AMA EC proposed/did in the last EC meeting: 3. d. Committee assignments: HQ has received around 170 responses to the Membership Dynamic: That is sad because AMA definitely offered a chance here. OTOH; Out of 60,000 emails to Open members, AMA received 385 positive responses to the park Pilot Partner program. They did not say how many less-than-positive they received. Yet they are still going "...full steam ahead..." with the program. 3. e. Some good things in the FAI realm. More items for the Jr-Sr age groups. Good, IMO. In a number of other areas, AMA seems to be investigating moving into areas where they have not previously shown any real interest. Better You read the actions than for me to try to tell you. IMO, it is much better to know what is below the surface before jumping/diving in. OTOH wonder why such was not done prior to dumping PPP on the membership???? Again in a previous post, "AMA LEADER Members: Work headed your way." I told you of a proposed shake-up in the make-up of the EC. This needs to be voted down. It is supposed to be in the June issue of MA, with Leader Members getting ballots along same time. If this passes, the EC will, In MY Opinion, lose any control, financial or otherwise, over the salaried Muncie Crowd that the EC could even hope to maintain. If you want an organization there to represent the model aviation fraternity, I beg you read that post, the new minutes of the last EC meeting (http://www.modelaircraft.org/aboutama/ec/news.aspx) and inform your Leader Members to say NO to those items dedicated to making the Chief Financial Officer an appointed position and the Executive Vice President nothing more than an errand boy. Are you a MEMBER? Or do you prefer to just be a common stockholder in United Aiirlines, Enron or such? We cannot do anything about those items now, however you may like to read this analysis which is happening all around me every day. http://chycho.gnn.tv/blogs/27625/10_..._Last_10_Years OH YES, a little deep for toy airplanes, however I forecast AMA inching that way day by day. Loss of membership, loss of income, and floating a commercial magazine liability each year, which our current AMA CFO prefers to avoid any references, beyond any reasoning, to an outsider like you and I. As the Audit states: "DEFICIENCY OF REVENUE OVER EXPENSES FROM OPERATIONS". WHY? |

OTOH; Out of 60,000 emails to Open members, AMA received 385 positive responses to the park Pilot Partner program. They did not say how many less-than-positive they received I mean... just... wow. [:'(] |
RE: AMA Notes
I reacall a statement that stated in the neighborhood of 8,000 replies from AMA members. Also it was the largest feedback they've ever had.
Anyone have a calculator handy? |
RE: AMA Notes
Horrace,
I was one of the membership who responded to the AMA's query concerning the Park Pilot program. I was not one of the 170 who responded in a positive manner. Bill, AMA 4720 |
RE: AMA Notes
So, of 60,000 respondents, 0.64% gave positive responses to the PPP. I have to say, that is much higher than I thought it would be. :D

RE: AMA Notes
Umm no ... there were some 8,000 respondents of 60,000 emails. Of the 8,000, 385 were positive.
Which only concludes that the 150,000 members should learn how to vote more often if they want their actual voice to be heard. Doesn't matter if 60,000 were negative, your DVP's make your decisions for you. |
