reguarding ama numbers
You know everytime I come in this forum it seems pretty tense, and I always leave feeling worn out and under surveilance ....
Here is my Question, due to the fact that I have quit and rejoined the hobby so many times..I have had 3 maybe 4 different AMA numbers... Now if my number is reissued to another member.. does he get the credit for all my good landings while I fell under that number? Or does he just get blamed for the crashs? Because I would like to push off on somebody else a few INCIDENTS in the past that have been bringing my down my overall average. They were ALL radio hits of course :D But you understand my position... |
RE: reguarding ama numbers
I don't think they reissue numbers. That why we have people with numbers in the 7-8E5 range.

RE: reguarding ama numbers
There was a time when they would reissue you a lower number than the one you had when you
became a CD. I was offered that when I became a CD but passed. I do not know if they still do that. Dan |
RE: reguarding ama numbers
All your crashes go with your old number. Fer sure.

RE: reguarding ama numbers
I think I must have got one of your old numbers!

(edited by skylark-flier to add one line at the end of this paragraph)
Just a quickie FYI here for y'all. I had e-mailed AMA some months ago with a request to do just this - restore my original AMA number. Got no response at first, but after waiting 6 months I e-mailed the membership director (Shawn Grubbs) directly, and within 2 weeks got the nicest reply from him - - along with my original number, RESTORED!!!! Took 1 more week to get my new AMA card in the snail-mail. Numbers are never re-issued to a new member, but CAN be restored to the original member. He'll probably hate me for this but, TELL HIM I SENT YOU. Dave |
RE: reguarding ama numbers
They still offer the 4 digit number for CDs.
I asked NMPRA for the same number as my Revver Brotherhood number, 41, and they graciously gave it to me.:D |
RE: reguarding ama numbers
They may have changed the rule, but they issued me two numbers.
My number is 79669, my son's is 79670. When I enrolled my two grandsons I wanter to keep the sequence, so I called DM, who was Dist II VP at the time, he checked with Muncie and I got 79667 and 79668 for my grandsons. BRG, Jon |

BRG, Jon But that only works if it's availble. I had the same experiance my original number was 80026, when my now ex wife joined in 1994 I asked for as near a sequential number as possible and got 80028 because it was available. When I became a CD I droped one zero and got 8026. They're flexible if your're polite. And no...there's a huge database that tracks all your crashes and moves them to your new number. Only the good landings stay with your old number:D |
