Hi to all,

What do you think of a Saito 1.00 engine on the Escapade .60?

Thanks

A Saito 100 will do a very nice job of flying it.

The DLE20 won't fit in cowl with stock muffler, You may be able get a JTEC wrap around pitts to fit.

I checked the dimensions from troybuiltmodels.  It clearly shows the dimensions.  Can you do a quick check to see whether it will fit, before I splurge?

I tried to put a bison pitts with a supertigre G90 inverted on mine and destroyed the cowl. The cowl narrows up real quick on both left and right and bottom. Basically the tube stuck out both sides and cut the bottom of the cowl away.

I just purchased this plane today and plan on putting a Enya 120 four stroke in it. Is anybody else running an engine this size?

My Escapade is almost done! Cant wait to try it out.But I'm trying to decide on a proper prop to use. I've decided to use a Thunder tiger Pro-61 for my engine choice, but I am
now trying to decide on either using a 11x6 prop(APC) as recommended in the engine instructions ior Ive been told to try a 12x7 prop. I need some help here. So who is using a
60 size motor like me, and what prop have you had sucess with? Thanks!

Here is my Escapade 61 , Has three flights on it with a Satio 125 added perry pump to help with fuel delivery to carb, 15x8 prop, more than enough power.

Hello JCB9901

How did your plane balance out?? Was it nose heavy with the DLE? Did you add any weights to the Tail?

Hi to all,

It seems of being camouflaged with blue-white colors. Would be the colors of the blue-white sheme like non so visible in the air?

Well, today I maidened my Escapade 61. The engine is a new Fox .74 Eagle IV. Both the plane and engine performed perfectly. The takeoff was smooth and straight with about a 7 mph crosswind. I started slow with up elevator. Once it started to pick up speed I let off the elevator and the tail came up at half throttle. I held it on the gound until full throttle was reached and then fed in a small amount of up elevator for a classic takeoff. The only trim required was 1 click of left aileron. I flew around for about 5 minutes. The plane flew like my Pulse XT 60 but with more spirit. This was only the third tank through the engine so it will be a few more tanks before I attempt to wring out the plane. On landing the plane came right down the center of the grass runway with a nice natural glide slope and with a slight flair it touched down for a clean wheels landing. The roll out was about 100 feet.

I used the fiberglass cowling and it gives the plane IHMO a sleek look. The changes I made from the kit are:

1. Fiberglassed the landing gear mount.

2. Used Robart Super Ball Horns on the rudder and elevator. This eliminated the sloppy fit of the clevises in the original control horns.

3. Used DuBro Ball Clevises on the ailerons to eliminate binding and the sloppy fit.

What a day, brought out the Escapade, Way fast with the Jett .76.
Here is a couple of pictures in the air.
25 clicks of down trimmed the flapperons perfectly. A charm to land with or without flaps.

I have been flying my Escapade 61 for a few weeks now and it flys great except that it does not want to slow down on landing. I have it balanced where the book calls for and that is 4 inches from the wing leading edge. I am going to move the CD back in 1/8th inch increments but I was wondering what you all ended up with as the CG?

I think you'll be happy with a Saito125
you will need to change landing gear if running 17" prop

I Have a Saito 125 on mine with a 15x8 prop fly's very well, However i had to put a perry pump on it because of the carb being to high in relation to centerline of tank , it would not run right untill I installed the pump. Also Had to get a true turn spinner and trim to fit bigger prop.
