My Feedback: (2)

Guys, what incidence angles do you have on the Pitts, I had a V1 for a few years flew perfectly out of the box, didnt really measure the incidence of the wings on that.
I built and flew a v2 BH Pitts and the flying was very different, a lot of nose high attitude, the CG was bang on, and slightly nose down on the cg machine.
These are the incidence angles I have as it came out of the box, the neutral point I chose as 0 incidence was the flat part of the fuselage, ahead of the cockpit where the cabane struts are...
you thoughts will be highly appreciated.

Hi Loukos, look at my post #191. There is a photo of the struts I use on my pitts. Just print it out, and you can figure out the incidences. All other configuration details I used on my pitts are mentioned in my posts in this thread. Greetings from Bavaria!

Well if it helps any, on a full-scale Pitts S1 the top wing is 0° incidence, 0° dihedral, bottom wing 0° incidence, 1.5° dihedral. Everything is a tolerance of ± .5° Horizontal stab is .5° and 0° dihedral. Again with a tolerance of ± .5°

My new Pitts come in today :-)
I have had one a few years back, but sold it only after a few flights.
I regret it, and found this one in Poland that I ordered.
This is the Revised BH85-A version.
It has some differences compered to the old one I had.
The canopy and pilot is not glued on, so I guess that is a good thing so you can customize it a bit.
The vertical tail is not part of the fuselage, so you dont get that big ugly seam. That is great.
The top wing is nor re-designed as a 2 piece wing, so you can remove them much easier with only one bot in the middle.
The landing gear is stronger and more simple........ that is good and bad. It does not look as scale as before and......they made them white! That is really ugly. I will have to paint them red. The nice scale brace is not there any more :-(
Control horns are now fiberglass ones that are glued into prcut slots.
CG has been revised in the manual to 106mm from the top wing LE and back.
Thats what I can see so far.
Here is the revised manual in color......the one in the kit is still black and white :-) :

Hi Sonnich,
Excellent choice! I've had the same one for a few years. Its a lot of fun.
How is the build coming along?
What motor do you plan on using to power this Pitts?

First I was going to install my saito 125.....but then I traded an EDF for 2 OS 120 AX and a OS 155 4 stroke...........and then wanted to install the 155 4 stroke.
But the 120 2 stoke just fits perfectly in the cowl, so I ended up installing it :-)
I still have to install all the servos, but that should not take long.......been winter here, so not much motivation to fly.
Have been flying my foam FMS pitts....its almost the same size as the BH.....but electric :-( :-)

I have new version of Black Horses Pitts BH85A. I am missing one detail when I am now installing engine. What is the right distance from firewall to prop hub?
In the original version it is mentioned in discussions 140 mm is this new version same?

Hello Sonnich. There is nothing mentioned of distance in the manual. I have tried to setup cowling based on the white lines on the side, and best fit (not perfect fit) means that prop is little more far out, perhaps 150 mm or even more. I guess that is not so critical?
(It seems to be almost impossible to get white lines on the side to bee in straight line together)
