Seagull YAK 54 90 size CG
Hello,
I was given as a gift for Xmas a wonderful Seagull YAK 54 90 size. The aircraft went together great and I'm essentially ready to give it the maiden flight. I have 2 problems hanging in the back of my mine.
1. Will the Saito 100 be enough engine for this aircraft. (Its an engine I crashed on the previous YAK, so I thought it'd fit well on this airplane, but I think it might be a bit under-powered)
2. Where is the proper CG? Manual says 7-8 cm from leading edge at wing tip. I see others say 4 7/8"-5" from leading edge (where?).
Thank You,
Mark

balance point at rear point of wing tube for first flight, saito 100 will fly her but will not give full potential of model as you will be 9lb dry at least, do not balance as per seagull instructions as this will result in a massive FAIL. Do not expect unlimited vertical or huge loops with the saito 100 but should be good for sports flying, I had a asp 120fs on mine and although I have never had a saito I would like to think the saito 100fsis nearly as strong. i now have a 20cc petrol that is far more powerfull than the 120fs and really pulls the plane.
