Texas RC Planes Stick 1.20
Anyone built one of [link=http://www.texasrcplanes.com/dr20onor.html]these[/link]? What engine did you put on it and what was the all up weight?
I've got a DLE 20 with an ES Composites pipe and Macs header and was wanting something to put it on. I would probably modify the plane for floats as well.
Wingspan: 78 inches
Wing area: 1349 sq. in.
Length: 68 inches
Engine: 2C 1.20 cu.in;26cc gas engine
Radio: 4 Channels; 6 Servos

RE: Texas RC Planes Stick 1.20
I havent had one but with the specs it has i doubt it will do more than just barely fly with a 20 dle. I have an giant big stick 80 inch w/s and fly it with a 55cc twin.It will fly with a 26cc but thats all it will do . i just checked their site and the stick 60 runs a dle 20 so i would say no on the 120 with a 20cc in it.

I agree that 60 size with the dle 20 and pipe will be awesome. I have a couple 26cc and another 50 twin laying around so ill try some things. I may have to get a 60 size next month and do a dle 20 like yours .

RE: Texas RC Planes Stick 1.20
It of course depends upon the power preference of the pilot but if the 120 is light enough (around 10lbs) it will fly on the wing and a 20cc would be fine with very good vertical. I'm not sure who would pick a stick for 3D, so the flight envelope would be great. If it is more like 11-13lb plane... a 30cc would be a better choice.

If the 1.20 is made like the trainer 40, it will take a 55cc to balance it. My trainer 40 is all lite ply with no holes cut to make the rear part of the fuse lighter. Flies great. But it took a GMS 75 to balance it. I still like their stiks, because they are tail draggers.

When I get my .60 size, I'll start a build thread. I shouldn't have a problem with it being tail heavy with a DLE 20 on the nose and a tuned pipe.

RE: Texas RC Planes Stick 1.20
I got mine yesterday and i must say it looks great.the covering is tight and the glue joints look very well done. Its a lot smaller than my greatplanes giant stick.Looks like it would fly nice with a 26cc engine. My g26 doesnt look like it will fit the firewall mounted @ a 45 .I would have to mount it that way for the canister.I might just put my rcgf on it instead.
