Default Great planes little toni ARF on the way! What engine?

hey guys.

Have a little toni on the way. Wondering what engine size to go for. Been looking at the asp engine since they are so cheap.

Will the asp .91 be enough? I see there is a 1.08 also. They cost the same on hobbyking. Weight difference seems to be around 50 grams..

I see the .91 has the S.. and the 1.08 does not. whats that about?

asp s91a:

asp 108a :

thanks!

It flies really good with the Saito .91 and you can perform just about any aerobatic manuver that you choose. But of course this is not a 3D model. It was originally based upon a Pylon Racer. But then again, do not expect a great deal of speed from it.

Best that I can sum it up is that it is a great flying model, with good speed and performance. A real pleasure to fly and have fun with. Draws a great deal of attention and complitments at the flying field, whenever if bring it out.

I can honsestly state that I know you will like it and enjoy flying it.

Thats sounds great! cant wait to build it tomorrow.

btw did you reinforce the motor mount wall? Read someplace that it was recommended to do so.

again thanks!

I have read the same recommendation that you have in regards to reinforcing the firewall / motor mount wall. I did not reinforce the wall on my Toni and to date I have had no problems with it and it shows no signs of fatigue or failure. But for your own piece of mind and I think that if I were to build another Toni, then I woud take the suggestion and reinforce the wall.

I have a 90 super tigre on mine... very fast plane. Nice flyer. You'll have fun with it for sure.

I've had two of these, the first one powered by the OS 61 2-stroke and the current one with the OS 91 4-stroke. I liked the 2-stroke better (faster) and am thinking now about either an OS 75 or possibly the 95 2-stroke. The plane is meant to fly fast, and it really does with a good 2-stroke of 60 or above size. One guy at our field even had an OS 1.20 2-stroke in his, but that is way overkill. Never heard about any firewall issues with this plane, nor have I experienced any issues with the stock firewall. I recommend low rates for this plane until you are used to it. Only other issue is it wants to fly on down the field on landing and it took some practice to land it the first few times.

thanks for the tips! Ive heard what you describe about it like to carry speed on approach. Have you tried the toni with flapperons programmed?

Just received little toni. I have to say the quality is amazing. Better than i thought. This is going to be a blast!

I flew mine using an OS 91FX fitted with a Macs mini tuned pipe. 12X12 APC made it MOVE!
