Thanks guys!!! I was running a 20x10 on it, but the engine was a fresh build the first time it went in the air, had maybe 5 minutes run time on the ground, so once it breaks in, that 20x10 is not gonna cut it! I chipped it sunday landing in 25-30mph wind, put a new 22x8 I had with me, was able to land it in windy conditions a couple times and it's still in one piece, but it does mow the field.. lol I had to hang 196 grams, about 7oz of weight right at the end of the fuselage, but under the stab, you can't even see it, and I painted it white.
Here is a little vid from saturday I took with our local ace flying it.. Again, he LOVES the plane, you can hear him in the vid at one point just thinking out loud, he says, "so sweet".. :-)
P.S, Go to Youtube and watch it in 4k, (if your internet speed is up for it) in full screen.. ;-)

Wondering what happened, was following this thread and then Nothing! Has anyone actually flown this plane? If so, what is the outcome, is it a keeper, or did they all end up in the burn barrels at the field?

Its a keeper for sure, I have been flying mine and I really like it, have not heard anybody on any forum who has one that doesn't like it. Don't know why the thread slowed down. Seems nobody has had any real issues with the plane. Its a very simple straight forward sport plane that's easy to assemble and setup and flies great.

Yes!! She is a keeper!!! Every time I go to the field, the Escape gasser is in the SUV. I have another one on back order with Tower.
I am very happy with this bird!!

No flutter problems or broken 4/40 pushrods like the Giant Super Sportster?
I missed out on the first batch, thinking about getting one when there back in stock.

I re enforced mine with flying wires to be safe and have had zero issues even with full throttle dives. Of all the forums I follow I haven't heard of one going if from those problems that the Sportster had.

I have yet to hear or read anyone having problem with the first batch of this plane. The one thing I did when mines came, was to mix up some 30 minute epoxy and thin it with Isopropyl Alcohol 91% and brush it over the high stress parts of the front end,( firewall, landing gear blocks, tank area and all servos trays).
Power will be up to you and the way you like to fly, but, the DLE 35RA is a good match for this plane. The use of flaps on this bird is a toss up. She slow down just with or without them. Stalls are very tame. Nose just drop, add some power and she is flying again.
I can not tell you if this is a good 3D bird.
Over all, I will say this is a good sport flyer.
I hope this info help and if you do pick up feel free to post any question you have hear and we will help you!!

the thread has slowed down because you cant get them, most people are waiting for tower hobbies to get the next batch in I have mine on back order and cant wait to get it, I live in the uk so will have to wait a bit yet. I am sure the thread will pick up when more people get them.

I hope the boat pick-up some more speed and they get them in fast. I have two club members have theirs on back-order. It is bad when I take my Escape to the field and only get one flight, because if I don't take my DX18 with me, one of the two will have it in the air and having fun!!!

I now have over 50 landing on this plane and the landing gear mounts are holding just fine. Like I post before, I re-did all the high stress area with 30 min. epoxy.
The first batch of a new ARF is where the problem are. So far on the Escape first batch, I have not seen a lot of bad report.
I have a Fun Fly to go to this weekend and I may leave the Escapade home. The last Fun Fly I went too, I had the only one and people line up to fly her!!! I could have made some money!!! lol

You are correct, I did not do the due diligence and skipped the epoxy part on the LG mounts I usually do on a new ARF and about 6th or 7th landing was a bit hard and they popped right out so I had some damage to repair. Great flying plane, I have an OS 65 ax on mine and it has plenty of power, may not rocket ship vertical but she will tractor on up until I kick her over.

I also have one of the original Escapade with a OS 1.20 four stroke in the nose!!! I have lost count on how many flights I have on her and she is still a sweet plane.
If you pick up the new ARF, I know you will love it. The DLE 35RA gas is a good fit with this bird. Now to find a good prop combo with this engine and I will be set!!!
If you do pick-up one and need help, just post your question here and we will help you!!

Can anyone see my post up above with the vid?? I've been flying the plane the last couple sundays, not one single issue, but I'm a novice and don't fly hard, but the plane is so forgiving, and has no bad characteristics.. My buddy who maidened it said it flies beautiful, and almost could not get it out of his hands. lol He's the one flying in the video i posted, if you guys can see it.

Thank you, I'll certainly keep that in mind. My current project is putting together a Ultra Stik Lite 120 with DLE 20 and I'm also kit building a Four Star 60 with a Saito 72. Pic of my Escapade.

tell you what guys, I cant wait to get mine from tower, There is just something about this bird that has me excited. I think it is due to its the size and the covering also looks very cool. I have got a DLE 35 sitting on my shelf very lonely. I Hope tower gets them soon, the weather over here in Scotland is perfect flying weather, no wind and 28 degrees.
