Granpooba;
If Great Plane stay with the way they did the mount on the 60 size Escapade with one solid gear, it will be okay. The down fall with the Revolver landing gear was the two half.
My old Escapade has over 100 landing and no landing gear problem.
Can not wait for more info to come out. If she flies like the old ones, it's going to be a blast!!!

Myself and many others, never had a problem with the " two " piece landing gear on the Revolver. The problems I have had and has been voiced by many other Revolver owners, was the complete landing gear mounting block tearing out of the fuselage, due to poor engineering and lack of reinforcements.

If GP's has failed to address the mounting issue, then they will have the same problems on this model as they have had on the Revolvers.
Hopefully, GP's got the message !

Yes, seems like a mod would correct the spelling error.

Looks like the DLE-35RA would be a natural, and no cowl hacking for the muffler!

One will be delivered to my house tomorrow (assuming schedule holds). Plan on putting a DLE30 on the nose. I downloaded the manual last week. I too don't care for the 2 piece LG but will reserve opinion on the Escapade until I see it.

sonnytex;
My ARF will be at my house the day after you receive yours. The top of my list to do first, is to inspect the land gear area all the way to the firewall!!
Good luck on the build and keep us in the loop on any mods you may come up with!! I will do the same!!

vicrider - jet22b,

The Escapade arrived via UPS an hour ago - unboxed same - a through investigation of the packing and condition of the plane shows absolutely no damage or apparent lack of workmanship. Will get into a complete examination after some "honey doos" (don't they ever end?).

I was just able to get a quick look at it today. Like yours there was no damage. It really looks impressive, no wrinkles, The construction looks solid but may go over a few joints with glue for my own piece of mind. The fiberglass parts look real good too. So far im really impressed with it, cant wait to get started on it this weekend.

vicrider & sonnytex;
I just check mines and it is in my state, so I will see it late tomorrow!!! I have also been happy with Great Planes ARF.
I have a spot on my work table for this bird and if it rain this weekend, I will start the build!!!
Like you, vicrider, all the joints around the firewall, will get more glue!!
Go ahead and make this a build thread if you like. That way if anyone else want to build this bird, they will have a thread for this bird!!

@sonnytex,
You know the list will never stop!! Keep her happy so the next time Big Brown knock on the door, every thing will be A-Okay!!!!

Guys,
After looking over the plane I will be beefing up the landing gear block although, with the slotted-in block to the formers, it should be pretty strong. Also, I will be putting some tri-stock on the upper and lower firewall inside. Again, It will probably work as-is but I be too old to change my ways. So far I have the wing servos in and push rods mounted. I intend to use flaps but waiting for the servos. Also, the stabilizer is glued in. I am impressed with the fit of the wings and stabilizer. So far I have not had to make any adjustment to get these part to meld together.

Hi Guys
Will Big Brown drop my ARF yesterday, but, because of other things that came up. Will I must said, they did a very good job on the packing!! The only thing I found out of place, was the pilot head was not glue in place!! You can see where it was glue in, but they did not let the glue dry before putting the canopy in place. That is a easy fix!! Like sonnytex said in his post, I will do the same. One thing I do love, that went with Robart type hinges!! I have not made up my mind if I will stay with the stock hardware or change them out. Over all the ARF is top of the line like all of Great Planes ARF. So If the weatherman is right for us in The Great Northwest, I will be in the shop!!! If I have anymore info or mod's, I will post here
