Default reintroduction to hobby via Turbo Timber eVo

I'm having a ton of fun with this thing!! Boy it's good to be back.

I've logged 25 flights thus far & 129 landings. I LOVE LANDING. Apparently.

Experienced a strange malfunction today, where the plane just up and lost control & bumbled itself near half-way to the WALMART before it snapped out of it and let me coax it home!! Not sure if that's a feature with these new radios (Dx6i) ? Honestly, quite problematic.

I did the range test (30 pesos/90 feet), no problem. Then I did 30 more. And 30 again. And finally 30 mas and it finally lost connection... a full 3.5x the recommendation. The wimpy little antenna is chillin in it's spot. Battery was fully juiced, both TX and RX, at time of fault. What gives?

Anyways nice to see yall! Thanks for your help, Have a good week Jah Bless.

Took her down to the river and found this great access road to practice crosswind landings. Most of these were pretty ugly... Any advice? I was successfully straightening the plane out just before touchdown, but I think I need to stay on the rudder hard after I plant the mains, to avoid the plane re-orienting itself and skipping down the runway sideways (and bending my axles even more.. DOH)

This was a really fun place to fly. Thanks for everything!!

Decided on a race to 1000. Today marked 545 flights. I might go to 5000 instead.

I haven't been easy on the Timber. One landing gear spring is a little sprung, but holding on. I'll keep flying til the wheels fall off. Then switch to floats.

And my rudder is bent from doing frontflips. Not sure what to do about that.

I'm getting a LOT more confident flying low and slow. Still I'm surprised by something daily.

Rain or shine
