My RCS 1.40 shook the flying wires off my 3D Freedom the frist time I ran it! It's a nice engine, but it's not very nice on airframes.

Sea, if you say your RCS is as smooth as your Saito 180 then that proves the RSC 140 shakes. The Saito 180 is a real shaker.

Default RE: Funtana 90!

if you are the type to not balance a prop
not tinker with the needles to make the transistion of the motor smooth
run bent spinners
not tighten your bolts well with loctite

any motor is going to give your plane troubles.

i have had satio, os, rcs, brison, zdz, 3w, tt, bme all have ran very smooth ys on the other hand vibrates more than any motor i have had or seen. yes i have a ys-91 on a g-trick. my rcs 1.4 runs very very smooth.

its those folks at the field who don't have all the nesecarry tools to make rc the best it could be that usually run into all those problems of things fallling apart and flying when they know things are not correct but they just want that one more (last flight).

prop 4 or 6 pitch is a good way to go when a person overpowers an aircraft. now the average person that overpowers their plane will fly it faster than it should be which may induce flutter.

it boil down to eachs own and its their time and money as long as they are safe. i am sure my sting ray is overpowered compared to my pinto but thats another story...

I sure agree with everything you are saying.
And the largest pitch prop I own is only 8 most are 6 or smaller.

That's good news for me. Now I won't be tempted to buy it so I can finish saving up for my 'vette.

Might want to reconsider the 1.20 Look at the weight diff between it and the 100...Its a significant amount..Not sure how much more power you would get in the end...Actually the 150 is lighter than the 1.20 but I think thats just way to much for it..

Anybody know what color the bottom of the wing is? All the pictures only show the top of the plane....

The pictures in the manual make it look like it's transparent covering like the 40 version, but the manual is b/w.

Trans blue with yellow stripes perhaps?

Yep.. Yellow and Trans blue. If you look at the manual, it gives the colors and the UltraCote part numbers.

There will be demo flights at [link=http://www.koolflightsystems.com/seff.htm]SEFF[/link] in June. About the same time it will release. Look for video from that event.

I wonder if you can use standard (s3004) servos or if you need hi-torque?? I would at least use a hi-torque on the rudder..

We've done a lot of flying with standard JR 537 servos all around. Not my personal choice for the best performance in a high performance aerobatic model but they actually worked very well.

what all motors have you liked on the funtana i had one of the desert aircraft ones and it was super light but i am not looking at building any more sticks kits for a while if ever and this one seems about that same size from my reading...

i ran a rcs 1.4 on mine and then i pulled that one off and installed a zdz-40 on a 20 x 10 now that was sweet still blimping the throttle for most flying except knife edge which did require more speed and the zdz 40 to the resucue on this deal. huge elevators made 3d so cool

I can't seem tu understand one thing. The funtana S was a new thing since it was a really small version of the Katana. Now the funtana .90 is the same size as a Katana, so what is the big diffrence? Why should one buy a funtana .90 and not the original Katana?

Just Called Horizon Today.... rep told me Late May is the expected arival of the FUNTANA 90!!!

The YS 110 looks like it would be a perfect fit, you could put the tank over the C.G. with no worries about fuel draw.
