It's just like full scale home builts. Some guys really like to build and some guys like to fly. A few like both just as well. Flying and building are two separate hobbies. And, if you are on a limited time budget and like to fly an ARF provides the best option.

Honestly, I have a hard time assembling an ARF and getting out to the field as often as I would like. If it weren't for ARFs I'd probably have to wait until I was retired to enjoy the hobby.

Thank goodness for ARF's .

I guess it all depends on what you want and are willing to accept.
For sure they make a great winter "basher" .
This way I can save my good quality stuff for the kinder summer months.

Regards,
Roby

Most of the Hobby shops I visit mostly sell ARF's and electrics. I bet ARF's sell more than kits.

Well that's a safe bet, and I'll add , not exactly what I would call
hot off the press "breaking news".

Its a market driven decision on their part I am sure.

Incidentally, I enjoy my car even though I didn't build it. I do wax it myself sometimes, though.

Ninety five percent of the jets at the jet rally in SC this week were ARF’s.

You wont' find Zirolis as ARFS....otherwise I would have them
So the best of the best still come in kits, and when you want the best and can't build you have to find $ bling to get someone to build it for you.
