Whats the best ARF you ever owned ?
Goldberg Ultimate.
Everything was in the box except engine, prop, fuel, and radio gear. It even had plastic tubes included to help you guide the pushrods through the fuselage for the tail. There was a drawing of the split pushrod for the elevator in 100% scale to make bending a breeze. It came with a glass rod, not crapwood, for the elevator rod. Wheel pants had lite ply reinforcement laminated into the glass for bolting to gear. Wings were joined and glassed. Paint match was 100%. I put it together in probably 6 to 8 hours. It flew like a dream, and tought me a lot about flying and aerobatics.

The best ARF that I ever had was the Funbird FB-100. This ARF was available in the late 70's and early 80's, and had a rolled plywood fuselage and tagboard covered foam wing. It was painted white with a choice of trim color and came with the fuel tank, landing gear and pushrods already installed. It flew with a .40 to .60 engine and was a great flier. Too bad they are not available anymore.

I love my Hangar 9 Cap, and my other Hangar 9 Cap, and the GP Giles.....
My favorite is the Hangar 9 Pizazz! Most bang for the buck, small enough to keep in the car, hand launches (w/Saito .91). I put 3 or 4 hours a weekend on it. Ok, I put 1 or 2 hours and the rest of the club puts in the rest of the time.

The best ARFs I have owned have been, my pop's old kit planes. Can't get any better than them. My other Arf's have been mostly ok.
Ugly Stick .40------OK
Talon .40-----------The Worst, nothing was straight, and that foam covering, uggh
UltraSport .40-----Other than the foam covering and lack of wood, it was alright.
Sig Cap231--------Just to dang big for me, only problem with ARF was aileron hatches, warped and not set to be 90 degrees from ail LE

I've got a Sig Breitling 231EX 25% that flies really well. ST3000 engine. About 100 flights.
I just built a H9 Cap 232 25% and it's got an MDS 148. Slightly underpowered at this altitude, but it flies like it's on rails. Rolls are so crisp and clean. Loops are perfect circles every time. Snaps are predictable and it stops snapping when I left off the sticks. No signs of overotation. I love it so far. Only about 15 flights.
My H9 PT-19 25%----------SUCKS!!; its a heavy pig and it tries to nose over on every landing. Flies heavy. Snaps unpredictably at slow speeds. Put stall strips on the root of the wings- still snaps. Yes, I do know how to land and fly a big plane, just in case your wondering. I just hate it. Tried to sell it numerous times, but can't get more than $25 for it- so it stays in the shop and collects dust. Biggest POS I ever owned. About 150 flights- then I just gave up.
My first plane- an LT-40 was my favorite for many years. Great trainer and flyer. Lost it at a float-fly. Inverted dumb thumb was the cause of death. Probably 250+ flights.

The best ARF I've had is the Kangke F3D/30.
Its ALL fiberglass, about $150 with aluminum spinner.
Nice construction, live hinges, light weight and super thin airfoil.
Its very fast, but also smooth and predictable. Almost pattern like. I run a TT36pro and its all the motor I need. Truly unlimited vertical power. Like flying a missile. I like to make a dive into a high speed, low pass and gracefully pull vertical. Watch it disappear in seconds. (And listen to the spectators behind you...). The only thing I dont like, and I imagine its common to any high speed aircraft, is the inability to slow down for landing. I need a lot of runway...

What the heck is your altitude up there?
My friend and I have been flying H9 PT-19's for a long time and they fly very well here at sea level.
Mine has a Zen G-23 and my friend has a Saito 150 in his.
I put olio struts on mine and braced them from the rear to stop the front to back movement and bent them foreward a little and installed smaller wheels. Would land on the mains with a bit of power and roll out all the way down the runway tail high, very pretty. Could also do wide open throttle touch and goes, very stable plane.

Kyosho Gee Bee!!!
It flied great, once I got the CG and throws right. Its not as difficult as people say. You just have to keep in mind that its not meant to go slow. I lost it when the servo bay cracked loose. I should have reinforced it from the getgo. it looked/felt pretty weak.
World Models CAP 232.
Now this is an awsome plane. Flies on rails, light, just an awsome flier.

I have flown about 20-25 planes over the last 15 months. The top 3 are:
WM Super Chipmunk - nobody likes the looks anymore but she can really fly
H9 Funtana 90 - what can we say, amazing plane to fly
Fliton Extra 330 - she is so sweet, clean lines, easy to land and take off.
