Default Twist 40 PNP

I'm thinking about buying the PNP version of the Twist. I know there's lot of experience out there with the standard ARF version but does anyone have any comments on the PNP version? What's the quality of the assembly? What servos are included? Any other comments?

Thanks,

Andre

Hello Andre. Those are good questions. RVator started the massive Twist thread when I bought my Twist. I'm still flying it today and I use Futaba standard servos. 3004's I think. They came with my transmitter. That's what is recommended for it. However, a standard servo is not necessarily a standard servo if you get what I mean. I've heard that some of the servos that are coming with the RTF planes are not that high of quality you get when you buy your own. The Twist has large control surfaces. Not huge but large enough to put strain on a cheap servo. IMHO. My friend, after a few hard landings, did a full speed snap roll and broke the whole plane in half behind the canopy. The elevator is pretty large. The tail bolts together I think and that would make it easier to put together though.

I don't know about the Twist PNP, but I do have the Cub PNP and I can not say one bad thing about it. If that helps any.

Since Horizon sells JR that may be what comes on the Twist. I heard that JR was making a "less expensive" servo to compete better with Hitec and Futaba.

Hello Andre G,
I have the PNP and i have a great time with my one. I do Knife Edge
with no problems, It Flat spins with no problems and it does not drop
when doing it. Hovering i am still working on that i just need to get the
balance wright. Ok now to answere your question it has the JR nes- 537
servos on everything. I changed the servo arms and put the Dubro long
arms on the Rudder,Elevator & Alirons for better throw. The Battery is a
4.8volt 600mah no problems with that. You would like it.
Jetway.

Hello Andre G,
The one thing i forgot to mention was i put a .61 GMS on my
Twist PNP for better hovering. It came with a .46 Evolution and
it still flew good with that motor. I just wanted more hovering power.

Excellent feedback, Jetway. It sounds like a nice package. The 537 is a nice standard servo - I have used those in the past. All in all the Twist PNP seems like a quick way to get flying in a fun airplane. Thanks!

The servos in the Cub PNP are JRPS537.

I just bought a twist pnp. I understood that they came with a 600mah battery but mine came with a JR 1100mah battery. I'm not complaining. Should test fly it over the next couple of days. I was using a 12.25 X 3.75 prop on my .40 size 3D planes (with an OS .50SX). Would this be too much prop for the .46 Evo?? Anybody have any experience with this combination??

Thanks,

Dave

jake 027,
I tried the 12.25x3.75 on my .46 evolution/Twist PNP but
i did not like the throttle response.
