Random thoughts:
A plane small enough to be a park flyer usually can't take off from grass.
To get the 15 minutes of air time you probably need LiPo batteries.
The Clancy Aviation Lazy-E-Bee sounds about right but I don't know if it will take off from grass (I don't even know if it has wheels) and I don't know how it will handle a breeze.
The small Sig electric Rascal won't take off from the grass and may be a little harder to fly.
I'm having trouble reconciling the big plane properties (take off from grass, handle a little wind) with being able to fly in a park.

What have you seen that comes close to what you want?

Beginner is a broad description. I wouldn't say this is for a first timer. But if you've flown before, I think this would make a good "trainer" type airplane. I wanted one for a while but bought too many other planes before I saw it. I think it would be a great 2nd or 3rd plane.

Something like this is more what you are looking for. It is big and floaty, and is only three channels (no ailerons). And it has a very forgiving wing design.

Check out Towerhobbies.com for similar 3 channel planes.

This is the plane I learned on. I had zero experience and really only crashed it the first time I flew it. I wouldn't consider this the best choice for a first plane, but it's a RTF, so you can skip the hassle of the build. And I wanted a "scale" plane, so this was it for me. Red Rocket usually gives you a second battery for free.

alienx - I haven't seen that one before either. Looks good!

andrewtexas123 - I saw a T-shirt once that said "Friends don't let friends fly foam!" But, if you have never flown before and don't have an instructor but do have a big field then you might want to try somthing like the Easy Star just to get started.

have a look at Puffin models website. Since you are in the UK buy a good monthly mag and check the ads. Try RCM&E, RC Model World,Quiet & Electric Flight, etc., You can get them in any good newsagent and with $200 there is plenty of choice.

You better read the description closer. It says, "For Experienced Pilots Only !" Your original post said you wanted it to be good for the beginner.
