Default World Models P-39 Airacobra 60 ARF

Hi all,

I searched many places including RCU but couldn't find enough information about it and I'd like to try to make one here.
If you have any experience with this ARF, please give us your feedback.

The arf has fixed gear and I'd like to know if anyone used retracts.
I think hangar9 retracts for T-34 may work. T-34 has retractable nose and
main gears.
How's the flight characteristics ?
Four-stroke 91 engine will have enough power ?

Thanks !

Jake.

That plane never eally "took off" I'm sure it's quality is as good as the rest of the WM line up. You won't find much on it. With you bringing up the subject is the first time i have seen anything on it in a very very long time

Jrotor,
The kit is a very nice flyer, but not very scale. It has no provisions for retracts. Typical World Models construction...good.
Soft landings always,

I've got one of these that I picked up a few years ago. Still in the box. I'm considering a little kit bashing that starts by stripping all of the covering to install retracts. I've seen some of the Robart for the old Top Flite P-39 kit still around. If I can't find those I'm sure they have something that fits (maybe even the new electrics from evolution). The wing will probably need a lot of stiffening (same for the nose). I've got a NIB Saito 115 that I'm planning on using. And since I'm stripping the covering, maybe it'll get an odd color scheme such as the Portuguese version (attached).
