I just bought one of these
Nice fiberglass fuselage, and pretty good hardware. Engine mounts for both electric and glow included.
Lets see how it goes [8D]
Bought mine here: http://www.hobbyfly.com
Wing span: 1430 mm
Vinge area: 30.8 dm2
wingloading: 92~95 dm/2
Airfoil: Naca 0014
Length: 1270 mm
Weight plane only: 2000 gr.
AUW: 2.85~2.95 kg
Engine/Motor require: 2 taks motor 40~46 / 4 taks motor 52~63
Radio require: 4 Ch
5 Servos

I havn`t decided on the engine yet. I have a 4 stroke 65 ASP, a 46 and 90 2 stroke.
If the CG permits it, id like to install the webra 90 for a liddt extra bite .....otherwise, ill probably install the ASP 65 4st

Give us a flight report next week.
You've got a lot more bracing inside than is on my Kondor/CMP fiberglass 63"(1600) Chipmunk. These manfacturers sure are getting trigger happy with the laser gun aren't they?
Hope you get many years of enjoyment from her.

I have one of these planes. It is for sale It has a real high wing load, which means you have to come in a little fast. If you fly off of a grass stripe. Take the wheel pants off and put bigger wheels on it. DO NOT PUT A 46 size engine in this plane. No less than a 61 2 stroke!
Also, you realy need a computer radio for this plane. I would program flaperons for the landings. The plane flies realy good. but just too hard to land. Good luck!

RE: CMpro Extra 330L 50 ARF
Well, I have had the first 12 flights on it now
The first flight nearly killed it
The CG is too far back if you use the numbers in the manaul. It was draging its tail when in the air, and giving some elevator, would make it snap violently. I almost lost it at the first turn after takeoff.
Very difficult to fly, and land also, but it survived.
I thew in 6 sub C cells under the tank, that I had with me to get it flying nicly. 320g or 11,3oz extra in the NOSE!
The plane does not have a high wingloading, and it took the extra weight just fine.
I have since removed all the extra weight, and installed the rx batt right under the engine.
The wheels are way too small for a grass field, so I have installed some larger ones. It still noses over sometimes.....but my field is pretty rough.
All the control throws need to be reduced by 50% at least, for it to be pleasant to fly.
But Now im very pleased with it. It is NOT a beginner plane, and it will snap if you feed in too much elevator at low speeds, but it is very predictable, so you know whats comming Its a sleek airframe, so you have to learn how to bleed off airspeed when landing, otherwise it will land pretty fast. Flying slow is no problem. Just dont feed in heaps of elevator, or it will bite you
I would not install anything less than a .60 engine in it.
My 65 4 stroke is a good match, but it is nowhere near overpowered. If i did not cut the holes on the cowl for my 4 stroke, I would install my webra 90 in it for some more power.

Need some larger wheels, as it still noses over [>:]
Stock wheels are 55mm, and the 76mm wheels have not helped enough.
Pics from today
It flys very well with the CG the right place

Hi romonte.
I have crashed my Extra. The engine quit, and I had to make a landing with the wind......it destroyed my plane :-)
I dont remember the CG, as I have thrown the manual out now. But just move it 1cm further forward than in the manual.

RE: CMpro Extra 330L 50 ARF
This a great plane to fly. It just need some speed on landing. I crashed my after a couple of flights, but it was repairable.
My first CG was at 90mm as the manual said, but it was too tail heavy. So the next one was at 85mm. It went O.K. until the motor turned off. Now I'm flying at 75mm and it works great.
I have the Super Tigre G90 on it and it has unlimited vertical. But I still had to put 80g of lead under the engine.

RE: CMpro Extra 330L 50 ARF
I have bought one of these and being reading the threads. Seems to be quite a bit of adverse comment around although some have had mpre favourable experience. I was intending to instal a OS 62 four-stroke. Any comments on whether that should give enough power - or what would the optimum engine be?

I have a OS.61fx max in mine, and I wouldn't go any smaller. I think the .62 may be a little small. A .91 4 stroke would be about what it needs.

Thanks bonebreak - I may have to rethink the engine.
Overall, what's your experience of the plane been - how does it fly, does it have the nasty vices mentioned in other posts? Where is the CG position on yours?
Any setup tips would be appreciated.

RE: CMpro Extra 330L 50 ARF
I think it flies AWESOME! I don't think it is capable of 3D however if that is your thing. That being said, you really do need to keep the throttle up on landings. When it stalls, it will drop a wing, and into the dirt it will go. Keep the speed up on approach, and it's a great bird. Once you get it in the air, take it up high, get a feel for the stall speed, make a mental note of the throttle position, and keep it there for landing. As far as the vices, I think some may be pilot error, some may be building error, and some may be the plane itself (I read one post where the guy measured the CG from the wing-tip making it tail heavy. Needless to say it only lasted one flight, but it was a horrible plane that no one should buy???) Another thing I noticed is that it is pretty easy to nose over. To help with that, I compressed my tail wheel a little, so the nose sits at a higher angle. That has helped quite a bit, but it will still nose over at times if you hit a rough patch for instance.
My CG was set at 3 3/4 inches or 95mm. It was flyable, but a bit snappy (nothing terrible, it was still a joy to fly). I have since moved my engine forward a bit, and now I am at about 90mm. I haven't had a chance to fly it like this however, due to the weather. I would push for the 90mm mark. This can be a bit taxing, so make sure to not mount your engine until you have the cg right (mount it temporarily, then check CG, adjusting it until it is correct) using rubber bands or other means to hold it in place to check balance. You will of course need all the electronics in it while doing this. This in itself will save a bunch of hair pulling later.
