Default covering

Got one flight with my Starfire 40, and the OS40FX was screamiing(thanks to alot of help here) but I ended up in a cedar tree. I have stripped the covering from the wing, repaired it and am trying to clean the GLUE off!!! From the original factory covering. Neither Alcohol nor tricoethelene will get the stuff. I'm afraid the new Coverite won't stick. Any suggestions? I'm gonna pull the stuff off the fuselage next.

Default Covering Help

For stubbern spots heat with a heat gun or hair dryer and pull, pull, pull gently. Heat usually does the trick.

When recovering, I use Balsarite on areas where the covering could lift up or areas where oil might cause problems from exhaust. Use it sparingly as this stuff makes covering stick like cement ! Again, heat to remove if needed later.

Good luck to you !

Default covering

thanks, the plane is four years old, so it is on there. I'm just getting back in the hobby-and was just starting then- It is coming off better-in places, I had used epoxy to make it stick when repaired previously.
