Default H9 cap 1/4 landing gear

Are these landing gears really all that bad. I have read several posts stating how weak that they are. Mine seems really strong when I push down on the plane while on its wheels. I know of tnt gears, are there anymore that anyone is using?
Thanks
Jeff

Default H9 cap 1/4 landing gear

Jeff, I happen to have a set of carbon fiber gear made for that plane. They only weigh 4.2 oz. If you're interested E-mail me.

Default Landing Gear

Jeff,

It's not the gear but the gear block assembly that's weak (or at least could be stronger). I've cut the Ultracote on the slanted panel to get to the block, and renforced it with f/g and Elmer's, tying the block and plate more into the fuse longerons. This is pretty much the basic repair you will have to do after your first not-so-easy- landing.
