Honestly, if you haven't flown before put the mustang away. Then check out the beginners forum and this [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4537845/tm.htm]LIST[/link] of trainers. The mustang is a great plane but NOT something to learn on. IMHO

KWJ48 is absolutely right. This is not the model for a beginner.

I'd use a YS 110!

I will suggest you take your plane (or some pictures of it) to a meeting of the nearest club, and visit with the people there. Interaction with them will provide the best answers.

If you aren't familiar with flying, they probably have an instruction program, and possibly a club plane for instruction.

Or, if there's no opportunity for a visit to a flyer's meeting or field, perhaps you could post some pictures and outline your previous experience with RC here. Without those, anyone responding has little to base their comments on.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Are you looking at a Top Flite P-51 Mustang 60 ARF w/Retracts or a P-51D Mustang 60 ARF by Hangar 9. It all depends on what your going to build.

Personal preference for a P51D has got to be a 4-stroke, they just dont sound right with a 2 IMHO
