I like my .40 Pulse but it is for sale now since I plan on getting the 60 pulse. I also have the .46AX on my 40 Pulse with an 11x6 prop, but just swapped to an 11x8 last night, and hopefully I'll get a little more top speed with that.

I flew it in some heavy, heavy wind this weekend, direct crosswind from behind me across the runway 20-25 with higher gusts. The Pulse cuts through it no problem, and it was easy to land sideways. It's a kick ass little plane, and I imagine the 60 will be even better.

I have a .75AX and servos all waiting to go in it, just need the plane!

I'm drooling! I love the colors but, that idea
on the green scheme would have been cool. That's how my
Bridi "Trainer" was covered. I love the "semi-cowled" motor
setup on both of these, keeps things slick while
still cooling the cylinder like an open engine bay...I like it!

The red and yellow should keep it very visible on those
clear days, although it's big enough
to cover in Saran Wrap and still be seen
with no problem. Man, I love big airplanes![8D]

How about that price!!!!!....GO HANGAR 9!!!!

Seeing how the PXT 40 flies with a .46AX, I'm very impressed
and hope this one flies as nice. It really does look like it flies
on rails. Just a very steady airplane throughout the entire speed envelope.

The only real concern I have with this model is the tailwheel
being installed directly to the rudder. Might want to wick a bunch
of CA in there to harden that area.

Have fun guys....In the words of Napoleon Dynamite, "Lucky"!

Manufacturers HP "ratings " on glow engines are neither consistent nor compatible. You are chasing your tail. Look to thrust and weight for some meaningful data.

Very true, I wonder if there is any sort of data we can look at BEFORE buying
a new motor. I never pay attention to HP ratings but, see what others are flying
and having a good time with... the best rating system in my book.

The colors seem pretty close to my WH Extra 260 and I've had the WH Extra 300 with the same colors and it's very visable in the air and really not that bad of a color scheme IMO.

For whatever reason, that Extra looks way better. I think it's because I'm used to seeing the darker color at the LE of the wing at the tips instead of the lighter color.

Pretty close there Zippy! I agree
the WH looks way better and
can probably hold a knife-edge
a little longer too!

I love what H-9 did here but,
I'm still wishing there was a little less
dihedral in the wing. Also, that's
a lot of wing area, looks like it's
going to be a floater! Still got
my eye on the Super Skybolt
but I'm a bigger fan of H-9's
quality.

There's a reason for the dihedral and its to keep it flying sweetly despite its low wing design. I can turn the Pulse at a crawl and it never drops a wing. Try that on a CAP 232! Newbs to low wings will be perfectly at home with the Pulse. I've a club mate that remarked that the Pulse flies infinitely better than his Nexstar and wanted one of his own after one flight. I have the PNP 40 version and the biggest complaint is that the Evolution 46NT lacks oomph. Put it on a vertical climb and it runs out of steam very soon. Other than that its a great sports flyer and a real floater for easy landings - even deadsticks.

Now since the 60 version is designed for a Saito 100, I think it makes sense to drop in a Saito 125 instead - same bolt pattern. Extra cubic inches never hurts. If I ever wreck my Pulse 40XT (unlikely since its sooo well behaved) I'll probably replace it with a 60.

what prop are you using on that 46nt? i use an apc 11x6 and have nice vertical, not unlimited but it can get very small when i point the nose straight up.

A .46 AX will cure your unlimited vertical woes. With a 11x6 prop, the plane is very speedy and has no problem pulling the plane as far skyward as you want to go.

Or if you want, jam a .55AX on it. I'm sure it'll be plenty fast with that engine on it.

I have the 40 size Pulse. The only problem I've had is keeping the landing gear on it after it tore out about a year after I bought it. I put in my order for the new 60 Pulse with my LHS the first day I saw it advertised here on RCU. I am considering powering it with either the Saito 100 or GMS 76.

I must say that I'm eagerly waiting to hear how this new bird flies. I'm in the process of kit bashing a 4*60. Funny enough that the 60 size Pulse looks almost exactly how I want my 4* to end up (cowl, wheel pants, trimmed canopy, sheeted turtle deck).

I got the Pulse XT 40 last Augast as my first low wing plane, and loved it. If I can get the money together I think this is my next buy.

It's nice to see Hangar 9 producing a .60-size sport plane. It's hard to find a good ARF to recommend in this size range. It's ironic that it sounds like Hangar 9 will be helping to sell a lot of O.S. Max .75 AX engines, but like the saying goes, "A rising tide raises all boats."

It's nice to see this ARF is going to be reasonably priced, too, At $189.99 "street price" it will be very competitive with the Tiger .60 and Four Star .60 ARFs.

Anyone have any idea if a Zenoah G20 would fit in this plane? And if so, would it be grossly overweight or impossible to balance?

So, what's going on with this plane? Hangar 9 keeps pushing the release date back on it. Started as mid-March, then mid-April, late April now mid May.

Pre-ordering anything sucks. I hate waiting. Also, your chain is yanked with every manufacturing or shipping delay.

I pre-ordered my Plus XT 60 at my LHS on Friday. They called Hanger 9 while I was there. According to H9 the container should be " on the dock" by this Mon. with distribution starting mid week. Could be lip service too. So, maybe with any luck I'll see it next weekend or early next week...maaaaaybe. Hope you get your's soon too. Mike

Well, we'll see.
Love H9 quality ans customer support. But I've learned the hard way P47, PnP 1/4 J3, and now the second run of the B25 not to rely on any delivery date they give out. Though I'll of course continue to buy their products, I'm never again gonna buy something from them unless I have it in my hand.
(The second run of B25 was first scheduled for mid-November, so in October I ordered one from my LHS and bought, to the tune of ~ $1100, everything, including the Robart retracts, I'd need for what was going to be my winter project. It's been slipped every month for the past 6 months and according to the website is now due in "late May.)
Anyway, hope this thing will be available for you guys. If it flies like the 40-size it'll be a real blast.
Al
