RE: *New Hanger 9 Pulse XT 60*
Hey 8.point . I have that engine in my pulse. Bought the engine new and was very careful breaking it in and have had no problems. I used the CA hinges that came in the kit and so far so good. Quite a few people have tried to buy my pulse but I just can't let go. Very easy and relaxing to fly. Not a speed demon but was not designed to be. I have had the plane three or four years.

I just got my Pulse and changed the gear, I didn't like the way it wanted to nose over when throttled up even on the table, I was also not pleased with the angling back and the fit of the wheel pants so this is what i did with it, hanger-9 60 size gear legs, 4" wheels, longer axles, sullivan wheel pant brackets and then opening the pants for the larger wheels.

Strait nickel, did you find the elevator and rudder pushrods to be very hard to slide within the hard tube guides? Seems that this added strain/work can't be good for the servos.

No, the tubes where fine, the trouble was the work done attaching the control surfaces, poor workmanship there, they hardly move and it was a lot of flexing to loosen them up for just minimum travel.
and just to say so, the landing gear change didn't turn out so good after all, they are too flexible and easly produce a lot of bounce. I'm Now thinking of using piano wire but I don't have the means to do so right now.

I could be wrong here because I cant really see what you have done but you might have put the gear too far ahead .. I have had a bit of experience with the landing gear on the Pulse . As you have found they nose over way too easily. If you turn the gear around as some guys have done it stops the nose over but it puts the wheels too far ahead and when you land the tail will automatically drop and the next thing you know you are airborne again . What I found worked the best was too move the gear ahead just a bit so that the back hole in the gear lines up with the front hole in the fuselage . Then put a new 1/4" plywood plate in the fuse to hold the gear ..That moved the gear ahead around an inch and made a world of difference . The gear is now just far enough ahead to stop the nose over problem and not far enough to create the bounce on landing . The Pulse is one of the nicest planes to fly. They are so easy to land that I always say the plane makes me look like a good pilot .

Bikerbc, let me ask you the same question I asked Straitnickel. In your experience with this plane, did you find the elevator and rudder pushrods to be hard very hard to slide within the hard tubes that run the span of the fuselage? The rods don't slide freely, and it takes a bit of effort; just too much bending the way they were factory-installed. Im concerned how this will effect servo performance. Thanks in advance for your feed back.

Another tip, clean the wire pushrods! Try sanding them wet with 600 grit wet with oil, then clean them with solvent, and lub again with light oil, just a wipe, like a riffle bore. Oxidation causes a lot of drag against the plastic outer sheath.
on the nose overs, try a more neutral C/G, nose heavy will tend to tip forward, I have no such problem with the stock gear, also use up elevator while taxing and after touch down.

The push rod exit holes in the fuselage on mine were pinched shut a bit and needed to be opened up a bit . If that dosen't work try using new 2-56 push rods . I think the ones that are in there are metric and a tiny bit bigger. I could be wrong on this but I just measured mine and that's what it looked like .

I like Biker's thoughts on wheel positions. It is as important to trim the position for proper ground handling as trimming the elevator or ailerons for proper flight control.

Would anyone be able to measure the width of the horizontal stabilizer for me? Ive looked online and I cannot find these dimensions anywhere. I need the width dimension at its widest point with the elevators installed. Thanks in advance!
