I use foam rubber to wrap all of my fuel tanks. This is the stuff that you wrap your receiver and receiver battery pack with. You can get this stuff from any RC hobby store.

You need latex foam rubber...you might try a fabric store or upholstery shop if you don't have a hobby shop near by. Other wise it's www.towerhobbies.com

The nearest hobby shop to me is about a 30 minute drive. If I get home late from the office one more day this week, the wife is going to throw me and the dog out. I live only a few miles from wal-mart, you all think I can find it there.

hey, wait a minute, I forgot about Lowe's and Home Depot,,,they're just down the street as well. I should be able to work on my plane and sleep on my own bed now.

If you want a life time supply of foam for your planes, go to an automotive apohlstery shop and they will give you there scrap pieces for free. I have heard that you need to use ONLY latex but it has not hurt any of my planes in over 12 years of using it to pack around the tank. I still use the good stuff for the RX though.

Ok, I'm back from work now and had to go to 3 shops to get my hands on some foam. I'm not sure what latex foam looks like, perhaps someone can chime in and let me know.

Here is what I found. Is this ok?

Default foam

Go buy you a pc. of 1/2" carpet padding, you have to buy at least a 12" x 12' long pc. as the carpet shops all carry 12' wide pad.

Won't cost a lot and you will have enough to last a life time !
