Yeah, they are good people there. www.dougshobby.com is the link if you all are interested.
The web site still shows them out of stck but it has the phone number so you can call 'em.

Several threads ago someone talked about prop size. My .72 wasn't happy with the 14*4W. The 13*6 was OK but I wanted more air over the tail. The 13*4W seems to be perfect with 15% fuel. I fly to much to buy 30% Heli. It tachs a richened 10,200 on the ground. The 13*6 was turning 9,800. later daveo

Flybaby04, the plane will no doubt fly well with your Saito but you probably won't get the verticle performance you are hoping for. The .46 is NOT going to be enough power, I can assure you. The plane is made for a Saito .72 and that, or possibly a Saito 100 is a far better choice if you can swing it. I have flown the plane with a .72, a OS .91 and the Saito 100 and I think the .72 is perfect. The hundred works extremely well but you are really flying the engine more then the plane with that combination. Of course that is just my opinion, others may differ.

I'd have to agree with Badbill on his post. The 100 is the only way to go.I've flown with both the .72 and 100 on the same plane and the 100 is perfect. The 72 (at least mine) did not have near enough power to get out of sticky situations. If you are just going to sport fly the funtana the .46 or the .72 is plenty

RE: Im getting mine in 3 weeks!!!
I must post that after reading this post...and using tips my funtana fly's awsum!
I would even recomend this as a low wing trainer (on low rates!)stalls straight ahead and slows to walking speed on landing.
Im running the magnum52 &GMS pitts Hitech 5475 digitals(I could not justify spending big money on a cheaper plane) it pulls a 12 1/4 x 3 3/4 apc and I can hover enuf on that, only problem with motor is it takes 5-10 seconds to stop??!
Every one is right Knife edge is not the greatest but the airplane is fairly flat, but so far thats the only flight characteristic that is negative.

RE: Im getting mine in 3 weeks!!!
I am building a brand new one and am gonna put 5625's in all the control surfaces. Will do a little lightening up and remove all the decals and do a real nice recovering job on it. I really enjoy the plane for a fun fly and just figured that I would try and make one be all it can be.

RE: Im getting mine in 3 weeks!!!
Hi folks, this is my 1st post here and would first like to say thanks to all who post their tips and experiences here. This forum is a gold mine for newer pilots still trying to figure out this hobby.
I maidend my Funtana this week, and WOW what a fun bird! On my last flight I had to deadstick the landing down-wind and knocked the main gear off. I have only built two ARFs and never done any fiberglassing. Could someone give me a "step-by-step"of how I should go about "glassing" the fuse gear area. I have read this whole thread and it sounds like several people are reinforcing this area. I ended up with two holes in the underside of the wing too. (wheel pants) Does anybody know the color or perhaps the part # for the transparent yellow Ultracote used on the underside of the wing?
Well, just wanted to say thanks again to those who post here for all the tips and opinions.

avetter11, the transparent yellow ultracoat is just that, transparent yellow ultracoat. Nuttin' special there. As to the repair of the landing gear area, consider this: Go to the local hobby shop and get some 1/4" aircraft ply. It should be 5 ply minimum and cut it to fit the area of the original landing gear mounting block. Once you remove the covering from the area you will see what I am talking about. Add another piece of thin ply in the frontand rear of the landing gear mounting block to create a small shelf to mount the lite ply on and then use a slow drying epoxy th attach all of the above in place. clamp the parts in place until they dry and you will wind up with a stronger mount that will not come out again. (Unless of course you tear the front off of the plane.) In addition, it won't be any heavier then the original mounting design. I too fly off of grass and this is the work around I came up with after fixing mine 3 times. My son recently bounced the plane off the ground so hard it broke the fuse but the landing gear is still right where it is supposed to be.

I have it...
Hey
I just pick up mine... I will have pics on my web site. I will put a Saito 100 on it!
How did you install it without drilling the nose all around!? [&:]
9411 will be put all around and a 3121 for the throtle! Oh forgot, i will put nylon hinge so I will be on the safe side... Im thinking about putting a plywood pieces in the nose to make it stronger for the 100.
Thanks

If you have the money for the 82, you have the money to buy the 91, go the 91 i have that setup and it's excellent, and you dont have to relocate the firewall holes for the 91. very littlw mods necesary

RE: Im getting mine in 3 weeks!!!
Just a short question
Do you think there will be a Funtana 60 in near future....
I hope so,
What do you think
In my opinion the step between F40 and F90 is just too big. The 60 size would fit prfectly for 91 engines. A good powerded funtana needs 100 or even more.

There is already a Funtana 90, so there won't be a 60.
Use nylon bolts on the landing gear also, so the bolt will shear easily rather than the block.
