RE: Smoke and Servos
The struts better not be functional. My son flys the dog-do out of his with the Saito 180, and has never used the struts. He says it takes too long to put them on for show only. Believe me he wrings it out too. I dont think they are functional just for scale looks. Been flying that wasy for 3 yrs, and even sith some off field landings he has never had a wing failure.

That's great. Glad it holds together for him. Of course, a BME 44 is in a "slightly" different power class than a Saito 180 . Even so, I would personally use struts even if not necessary....I'm not a scale fanatic at all, but T-Crafts and Cubs don't look right to me without struts.

Horizon told me that the struts aren't needed that they are just for looks, but I use them anyway. Mine has a G-26 in it and it flies just fine. It's not overpowered but it will do anything I want.

I just looked at my .pdf of the original Hangar 9 manual and I could honestly find nothing in the manual saying that the struts are functional at all. Still, it looks kinda silly without them...

RE: Smoke and Servos
is anybody having trouble with the wing struts breaking at the bottom where the treaded rod is that attaches to the fuse? i have about 20 flights on mine and 3 of the 4 are cracked and loose.one has broken completly.i did not have them to tight as the pins would go in easy to attach to the fuse.the material they are made of is some sort of hard plastic type of material.anybody have and fix ups for this problem?
