MR. G I think you may need some right thrust. Add some washers for shim behind the left side of the motor mount and you will rid yourself of that.. What did you use for differential settings on yours? I am ordering mine after I get back from a road trip (Funfly) at the end of this month. So I hope to have one by mid august.

You will notice the post to which you responded is about a year old. Vector Flight closed its doors in the interim.

You might put a "wanted" ad on the board, there may be someone with a canopy and belly pan to sell you.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Hi Everyone,

I just uploaded some pictures of our new "VECTOR FLIGHT 300s EXTRA"
on our website...

We put the maiden flight on her back on April 15, 2007 but it has taken till now to get our updates done on our website...

Our 300s Extra is being powered by:

Motor: AXI 4130/16
ESC: Jeti 77
Battery: Thunder Power Extreme 6s 5000 Lipo

Here's a nice still shot of her taken back in June:

I need a manual for Vector flight extra 300s. I need engine mount location and CG. I bought an arf without the manual.

I could look for the manual if you need the information. Do you have a fax if I find it?

The c.g is recommended at 4 to 4-1/4" from the leading edge as measured at the fuselage side. The face of my prop thrust washer is 5" fron the firewall. I could also fax the manual to you if you have a fax.

The manual wasn't too good. It tells you to soak the parts in hot water and I ruined mine using too hot of water. Make it just a bit hotter than you can leave your hand in. I remember working for seemed forever on that thing. The wood was soft and I didn't trust it. I put a new YS 110 on it and I must have done something wrong as far as the radio was concerned because on maiden it got about thirty yards out on take off and began rolling. Went in straight down and did $150 damage to my engine and plane was total loss.

Do any of you Extra 300S owners have a cowl lying around? Contact me....I am interested in buying one.
I am looking for a replacement. The plane is still flying great, but the cowl is on its last leg.

its a shame to look back at this thread. I flew the snout out of mine years ago and it was such a blast. Shame we dont have regional manufacturers like this anymore

SunShyne,

I agree with your statement about needing regional manufacturers.

I just picked up a 300S-66 inexpensively and will build it up with my son over the winter school break. Reading this thread, I look forward to flying this plane. It sounds awesome.

I have a new, never assembled set of wings in the factory shipping box for the 90 size vectorflight Extra if anyone is interested.
