What would be a good prop to maiden my G.P Escapade with? I have installed the Rimefire 42mm motor and recommended ESC as well. Also this is my first "real" plane. Have exp on the park fylers so I don't really want speed just a successful flight.

thats a good sized motor and approx. equal to a 50 size glow,I think you would be safe with a 60esc either with a built -in BEC or a seperate bec such as a hacker or castle creations. you didnt state your battery size but I would go with a 30004s pack.thats my 2 cents and you need to decide what kind of aerobatic performance you want. figure a 100 watts per poundfor general flying ..if you want awerobatics look for 250 per pound.I might be a bit off only because I am not familiar with rimfire but go to GP and I bet they have a chart to guide you precisely.prop wise an electric apc 12x6 sounds like a goostart and maybe a 14x7..would love to know what others think. take your time and have fun..

To answer your question we really need to know the following:

- The EXACT Rimfire motor you used ( so it can be looked up )
- The ESC's rating ( or model number so we can look it up ).
- The Specs for the battery packs you are using or the model number so it can be looked up
- The All Up Weight ( ready to fly weight of the plane with the battery also called "AUW" )

Identically sized motors can have different KV ratings, thermal and power maximums so "recommended" is not really sufficient.

I use the following setup on my Escapade and its right on the money.
Unlimited vertical, fast, plenty of thrust/punch, cruises sweetly at 1/2 throttle.

Motor:
Eflite 46
670KV
4S to 5S LIPO
40 Amps continuous
55 Amps burst 15 seconds max

ESC:
Castle Creations Ice75

Prop:
APC 14x8.5 Thin Electric

Battery
4S 20C 3200ma

Full throttle static test is 55 amps meets motor spec for burst current
Using Eagle tree logger:
Max amps on takoff and agressive manoveurs = 55 AMPS meets motor spec for max 15 second burst amps
Full throttle in flight MAX 40 amps meets motor spec for max continuos amps
Average current draw about 15 - 20 amps
Flight times of 8 minutes using 80% of battery.

Ice 76 Esc was mounted internally on the battery tray and its datalogger showed only a 15 degree C rise above ambient - barley warm
After 8 minute flight motor was only slightly warm to the touch.

A very sweet setup.

I did beef up the landing gear section by removing the balsa sheeting between the landing gear ply and wing saddle and landing gear ply and firewall and then laminating with a sheet of 1/8 ply from the wing sadlle to the firewall.
