I've got one still in the box. Just showed up earlier in the week and I have to clear some workspace. Looks really nice and got some good press recently.

I have been flying a Zlin since the first part of January. I have a YS 63 with a 12/6 APC prop on mine. It is a fun plane to fly and is probably capable of doing a lot more than I can, skill wise. One thing you don't want to do is forget and take off on high rates. I almost went in inverted on take off last week because of forgetting to check the rate switch position. The plane has been flown many times and is holding up well. I am still pleased with it.

I just ordered one of these and can't wait to fly it. I have an ST G-51 with a Pitts style exhaust that needs a new home. The manual says the engine needs to mounted inverted, but would it be ok to mount the G51 on it's side so I can use the pitts? Would I have to change the tank location/height?

Thanks

I'll post up some pics when I get it. Still not sure about mounting the engine inverted, I think i'm going to mount it on it's side so I can use thepitts plus have easy access to the glow plug. I'll just have to cut up the cowl a bit no biggie.

Here's some pics taken with my cell. I got to maiden it today and it flys great! I really like this plane, nice and stable and pretty quick with an OS 46AX. I plan to fly most of the day tomorrow and can't wait. I did have some issues with the cowl fitting and had to cut the cowl on top to be able to get the canopy to fit in place. I need a new cowl but no biggie it still flys with a gap.

What engine are you planning to use? I was just going through the Zlin before I fly tomorrow and noticed the engine mount was a little loose. I found that two of the blind nuts were stripped so I'll be replacing all four with something stronger. Other than that no probs. Take your time mounting the cowl it's brutal! lol Oh, make sure when you go to fit the cowl that your canopy is in place!
