Issue with Slipstream, Goldwing ARF's
 

Was chatting to some guys over the weekend about a large scale aerobat and mentioned interest in a Slipstream MX2.
Horror stories followed so I thought I'd check on a broader community basis what the experience of quality has been with ARF's from these companies.

Bad?

Inbetween.


Not expecting a comparison to the top arf brands but would like to a get the likes/dislaike on the table.

The Redwing RC MX2 is a great plane- Assembles easy, flies very nicely, and the price is reasonable too.

It is a 30cc sized plane, so it will still fit in most cars, but flies as nice as some larger planes, and I've heard it said that 30cc is the new 50cc! [sm=wink_smile.gif]

I fly a slipstream MS w/30cc and love it! Own lots of other. similar size planes and the quality is on the higher end. Issues? Having really "stressed" it out :) I bend the landing gear on hard landings (bends back, no damage to airframe), bent the wing tube on a high speed wall (plane now comes w/cf tube which is workng just fine) and had the firewall loosen (put fiberglass over the corners).

So the only issue I've really had is the firewall needs to be pinned (common for this size) or have a piece of fiberglass put over it when using a 30cc engine.

It does fly nice!

I've got a Pilot RC 30cc Yak 54. While it's an awesome flying model, the canopy was cracked when I received the model, absolutly no damage to the shipping inside or out. It was obviously broken before it was packed. Best Pilot would do is replace just the canopy, not the hatch assembly. Wasn't too happy about that.
