i just flew my aresti for the first time today. i must say im quite pleased. i used all the stock hardware. including push rods. usually i use dave brown. but did not have any at this time. im using a saito 72. i was going to use a 12 8. but all i had was a 13 6 apc. so i used it for first flight. i set all throws to recomended. and i set the cg at 3 1/2 for first flights. it flew well. but i used high rate on the elevator to take off and fly. low rate was too low. maybe because cg is forward. im going to move it back as i go. was wondering what others were setting there cg at. and what throws are u using on the elevator. im also going to set up my throws on high rate for ailerons a little. also what props are everyone using. im going to try the 12 8 and see what happens. it wighs 5 lbs. 8 oz. doesnt sound bad. im still breaking in my engine. the plane looks like it will be fast. and it landed so well. and my incidence was on without having to adjust the tail or wings. could not believe it. it was a first. it appears its going to be one nice flying plane. well any input would be great. hope for nice weather in the hole of ohio. when will it quit raining. im going to have to move to somewhere with nice weather so i can fly. take care cya bill :p

Sounds like you got a good one, I've heard some people having problems with it, like the stab breaking. Have fun. Daz...

I also used a sato72. I used a 13 x 7 it seems quick with this prop . I ballanced it at 3 7/8 without adding weight(battery waayy back in the fuse) also ballanced latterally with out adding wing weights. Even with the ballance where it was it still didnt want to slow down to land. I think I'l try the flaperons on a calm day. with recomended throws it rolls just as fast as my somthin extra :spinnyeye Its only got one flight on it and I allready love how little the wind afects it.

I am useing a futaba skyport 6 channel, wing servos are pluged into 1 and 5 I think. this is a non-computer radio it has switches on the back like servo revercing switches. on this one I have to choose between flaperon or aileron diferential. Sory but I have no experiance with Jr stuf. I started with futaba and it was easer to stick with the same type recievers and servos ect...

F900,

I have a H9 Aresti setup with flaperons on a JR8103dt. Please describe your setup ... wing type selected and aileron servo connection. I can probably help.

Glad to hear you like the plane. I have one ready to go soon . I have heard others talk about the weak stab. Anyone have any personal experience with that problem? Any possible fixes? Thanks RCU for a great forum.

Weak Stab

Guys you might want to pay attention to any creases that seem to appear on the rear stab. Also watch down lines CAREFULLY. I got a little bit of flutter my first weekend flying mine and didn't see any issues so I decided to just slow it down. This weekend while flying in 25-30mph winds I had BOTH sides of my stab fold. I got the plane turned around and on the deck safely (I finally got some GOOD luck). Both sides broke in the SAME spot the TE broke 1/2 inch out from the root and the LE broke about 3-4" out from the root so it's not the same problem. I'm going to reinforce mine with some stock cut into a triangle shape and them I'm going to add flying wires too. I figure the plane could use the drag since it's so damn fast and the weight since I got 3 ounces of lead hanging off the tail. Also I'm going to change from the stock hardware on the tail (balsa dowels) I noticed that the plane doesn't knife edge in one direction and figured it's when the control is pushing on the rudder so I'm thinking the dowel is bowing in the middle under pressure. I think I'm going to carbon fiber rods or golden rods.
