25mm Wing Tube? Where can I get one?
I have a KMP Beaver that I bent the Aluminum wing tube - don't ask!
It has a 25mm OD (no a 1" tube is too thick). I can find 25mm carbon tubes in the US ($44 to my door), but Aluminum tubes in metric sizes - forget about it! I need a 25mm OD by about 30.5 inches long. Just seems crazy to spend $44 on a carbon tube for that plane. Any suggestions? Anybody want to upgrade to Carbon and sell me their old one cheap? Thanks in advance. |

I bought my aluminum tube from a local hydraulic and hose parts store. Yes, it's a 1" OD however, 400-600 wet/dry sanding paper produces a nice smooth finish and will drop that .4mm off the OD. I just had a similar problem with my Seagull 1.20 AT6. The wing tube was too short. I also used some graphite on the tube while inserting it. Worked perfectly. A 6 ft. length of tube was about $7.00
