I am on my way to a third airplane and I want a .60 size ARF fully aerobatic (like the edge) airplane. I wish I got the money to buy a aerobatic trainer and then a true aerobatic airplane but I cant.

recommendation please!! quick!!

no kit

no Lady flying

Thanks, LOLO

Have you looked at Vector Flight? Sounds like that's right up your alley, but they have a current backlog of about 2 weeks...Great airplanes though...

Kangke Extra 300, Cap 232 or Staudacher G300. These are all good planes (I have the Extra and flown the other 2). They will fly with a 60 but a 75 to 90 is better. Another good one is the World Models Super Chipmunk (I have flown one of these also) they fly well with a 60 2 cycle or 91 4 four cycle.

It's the same size as the Hangar 9 60 size ultra stick, it's an ARF, and it's only $100. Mine just arrived the other day. The covering looks good. The instructions do not. But that doesn't matter if you've built a plane or two before. I haven't looked at the contents enough to tell you more about it, and I can't tell you how it flies. I was thinking about putting an os 61 fx on it, but I might stick with the os 46 fx.

I have no problem buying a .91 engine. I just need that airplane because my dynaflite decathalon does not give me the aerobatic preformance i am looking for (with a 160 four stroke).

waagbuck, the link does not open.

tsaw, nice site, great price! I like the edge 66 and the extra 66
there is almost no difference between the edge and the extra, correct???

You might want to check out seagull's Razzle. It's a 60 sized plane and takes a 70- 100 four stroke. You can check it out a horizon hobbies . You can pick it up for 154.99

waagbuck 08-16-2003 10:12 AM

just search google

I was having difficulty with the airborne models link the other day too. I tried the link again now and it works.

If you have no luck, just search google or yahoo for world models super stunt and you'll come up with it.

Kankge makes a super model for the money. I've put dozens together and all are very well built and covered.
The Vector Flight models look nice also, just haven't seen one yet.

Try the Kangke Cap. Great flying airplane with a 91 in it. Can't recommend the Razzle, I don't know where they found that much soft wood.

SIG SE with a O.S. 50 SX. The 50SX has .1 less HP than a 61FX! The SIG SE will be as mild or as wild as you want it to be!

Sig Four Star 60. AWESOME airplane, it will land like a trainer, but you can fly it wild if you want.

Actually the 66" extra is a little lighter but the edge has a 2-piece wing, I have the Sukhoi and I'm waiting for it's maiden flight if this cold weather ever ends. Vector flight makes a great plane.

I just finished the U-Can-Do which is not like an Edge, but a fun 60 sized airplane to fly. Have a 91 Surpass on the nose. G.P did a nice job with the construction and I'm having fun with it. Not hard to assemble and fun to fly. I throw this in there because you mentioned you would like a trainer aerobatic airplane and then go up to something else. It's not a speed demon, but it handles well for what it is. Very gentle on take off and landings. A good alternative to a stick that looks nice.

How about the Pacific Aeromodel Edge?

What about the trusty WM Chipmunk? It was my third plane and I still have it and occasionally fly it. Very acrobatic. If you decide on it, get the one without retracts.

My $.02--I agree with Roger from Alabama. I bought a Ucan Do at our club's Christmas auction, and although have only flown it a couple of times, am very pleased with it. Have a .91 Surpass and 16 x 4 APC wide. Went ahead and bought digital servos for tail group. So far everything is great. Looking forward to flying when weather improves.

Those U-Cando's fly as gentle, or even more so as a trainer, but boy you can really tear the skies up with one on high rates! Wouldn't mind having one myself. I picked up a Funana recently, not sure what to expect yet, but the guy made me a pretty good deal on it.
