Looking for a .07 size plane
 

Towerhobbies used to sell an ARF, I think it was made by SIG (looked like the Kadet) that used a .061 to a .07 I believe. Anyways, I guess they stopped carrying it. Well, I ended up with a ThunderTiger .07 and am having a hard time finding a plane small enough for it. Does anyone know of something I could mount this little engine to? It kind of needs to be ARF, I live in an apartment and my girlfriend would kill me for building one up from a kit. Maybe convert an electric?

yes go the electric route and convert it over. look in tower hobbies, horizon and so on maybe even hobby king.

here is two that could work with this engine.

This one is a bit large but would fly it on a 7x3 APC:

This one would be just a bit overpowered but would take off grass easily. Do this one with the recommended servos, small reciever, 200 Mah LiFe from tower hobbies, 1-2 ounce tank. would end up around 14 ounces lol verticle on a cub???

I just ordered the Taylorcraft, it does look a tad large, but should still make for a nice slow park flyer. The engine is so small I wont have to cut up the cowling either.

I know a lot of guys put OS 15's. Remember to use the small LiFe pack 200 mah should give 3 flights. I use this pack on most small planes. I use about 30-40 mah per flight. Just fly one flight recharge till see how far can go. It is a very light pack.
This engine will fly in a very scale manner. If need any help with install let me know. I have converted about 20 different planes from electric to gas.

The scale look is what I'm kind of going for, no need to go vertical or anything, I have other planes for that. Have you done the conversion on this specific plane?

no I havent sorry but it looks like the others.

I think you have a flat former that you have to glue the "electric" firewall on to. just glue on some 3/32 Soft wood to the shape of the fuselage to cover all holes. figure out the spacing needed to clear the cowl (mount cowl first). then build a box or spacers need to mount the TT in it. Leave some room to grow. like make the box 1/2-3/4" shorter than needed. this is so if later you want to add a 15, TT18 or OS 30 FS you will not have to do much.

Remember this engine will put out about 16-17 ounces of thrust in a 25-30 ounce airframe so can horse it off the ground will have to fly on the wing. I would also go with the 2 ounce tank for a good ten minutes at full power.

Also need to open the muffler up as much as you can not much difference in sound but 2-3 more rpm is there.
