Tiger Bipe = Ace RC 4-40 Bipe?
 

I've been flying my old 4-40 Bipe that was built from an Ace RC kit and have received a lot of comments from folks at the field about how well it flies. I've also been asked where they might get one of them for themselves. I haven't been able to find any kits for it and I know that they aren't interested in building one from plans (RCM plan #977, construction article in 10/86). I have noticed the apparent similarities between it and the Tiger Bipe that is available here in the states and wonder if this isn't the same plane with a few modifications to ease production-line building using standard length sticks of wood? It sure does appear to have all of the same moments and design highlights with only slightly reshaped tailfeathers & cheap wire gear instead of the wide spaced aluminum gear that the 4-40 used. So how about it? Anyone in the know on this or have the means to compare the two side-by-side so that I can offer them some useful advice next time I'm out with the bipe?

Read with great interest your thread on the original ACE 4-40 bipe. I have been searching for this plane/kit for over a yr. FINNALY GOT IT. I am restoring a well built plane that been sitting for 6yrs. I need a little help from you or any proud owner of this great plane. As you mentioned I am trying to get plans form RCM.( IS RCM = RC Modler).
In the meantime can I pick your brains? What are the incidences? Mine is 0 on the stab, 0 on the lower wing, is this right? What should top wing be? Also any downthrust/or right on engine? Where is Cg? ON strut of lower wing?

Also curious that mine has no interplane struts- just cabanes. Also only strip airlerons on lower wing. Is this the stock build? Does plane fly OKay this way? What would be good throws on all controls?

As you can see I need help. Anyone pls chime in.
