aerobatic plane for g75
 

hello
i have a supertigre g75 engine with pitts. i want to buy a good aerobatic airplane for to fit this engine.
i want the plane to be able to make a little bit of 3d.....
i thought about:
1. phoenix extra 330s 60-90
2. seaguel edge 540 60
3. greatplanes revolver gp 70
one thing is very important.... the engine must fit the cowl perfectly!!!!

what do you think?
if you have another suggestion i am open mind.......

The GP Revolver really isn't suited to 3D, and it has a lifting airfoil, not symmetric.

I have experience with the Seagull Edge 540 60/90 size. It is a large model for its stated power needs. I flew mine on a magnum 91 XLS 2 stroke and was delighted with it. In order to get to the stated weight of 8+ lbs, I needed to mount the servos under the canopy. Mounting back at the tail would require HUGE weight added to the nose to balance. As it turned out, my plane balanced with no weight added anywhere. I ran 16X6 props on my engine at around 9000 rpm, and that was good for aerobatic performance that I like. The control surfaces are oversized, as for 3D style. The cowl will swallow your engine completely. I side mounted with Pitts type muffler, left the right side cowl intake in place and covered the left side to force air to the engine. Be sure to provide adequate exit air openings. The ONLY down side to this model is the black canopy. It absorbs heat from the sun incredibly quickly, so after the first sun warped canopy replacement, I always threw a towel over the canopy while it was parked in the sun.

I don't have direct experience with the Seagull YAK 54 .60 size, but have seen one fly at my field, appears to be a great flying model, and the round cowl will hide a lot of engine.

Seagull also makes a nice Extra 300 .75 size I have seen fly, and it looks like a good one. The cowl is not as spacious as the others.

I have the Phoenix Extra and power it with a GMS .76. The entire engine fits inside the cowl. I built mine as light as possible and the .76 flies it nicely. It weigh's in at 7 lbs. It will loop, roll, hammerheads, cuban 8's, just about anything you would want to do but I doubt if you can do 3d with it. I am not in to 3d so I could care less about 3d. I am sure the SuperTiger 75 would pull it fine. I know the Supertiger will not fit inside the 75 size Seagull Extra because I had one. It met an untimely demise with the ground. Stupidity on my part. There is a complete thread on the Phoenix Extra in this section. I personally like this model better than the Seagull. It is somewhat larger than the Seagull. My Phoenix is box stock. Only mod was a larger fuel tank

Dont go with the Seagull Edge, your engine would be too small. I have one and fly it with an OS 91Fx, flies good but would be better with a larger engine. Its a heavy model. Might look at a Great PLanes U-Can-Do.
