meausring control throw

Just finished assembling a hanger 9 p51d Miss America and was wondering if anybody new were to measure the control through on the ailrons. I do not know if i shoud measure it from the wide part of the control surface our the narrow. any help would be apreciated.

Measure always from the widest part of all control surfaces.
