unknown plane
 

I have just picked up this plane and it resembles a u can do but wing is wrong.Hoping someone can help me identify it so i can find out control throws and C.G.Thanks Freddy

Nope not even close to the U-Can-Do. Compare the wing control surfaces and wing airfoil...

It looks like a nice semi-pattern plane with a big "3D" type elevator.

Are you going electric or fuel burning?


When I have an "unknown" plane like this, I'll set the C.G. about 25% of the wing chord, and the throws to all I can get without binding.

Then I'll set low rates to give me about 18-20 degrees with 30% or more expo and high rates to everything I can get (without binding) and 50% expo.

I'll fly the plane and if things seem too touchy, I'll dial travel down.

Given the large size of the elevator, keep your low rates toned down or the plane will be twitchy.

thanks for the feedback,i only used the u can do as it looked similiar as far as the fuselage.but anyway i am going to use it for pattern style flying practice,so the controls will be set up on the low side as they are huge. it is quite light so i am going fuel with a good running magnum 61 4 stroke that i have.will just have to see what happens.thanks again

What is the wingspan on it, and does the fuel tank say the size on it anywhere?

Usually the fuel tanks may have numbers imprinted during forming that indicate the size...

e.g. 220 ( cc) or 18 ( oz ).

its 54 inches long and wingspan is also 54 inches.there was no fuel tank.

So that is a .32 - .40 sized electric.

Have you configured a Motor, Prop and ESC for it yet?

Does it have an easily removeable area for the battery?

Did you receive ANY instructions with it?

it appears that it was only made for fuel as there is no provision to acces a battery,no instructions or any thing about it.the reason i took it was the price was very right,so i thought i would just fool around with it and see what happens.going to use a magnum .61 4 stroke on it.

Have you found a suitable fuel tank for it?

not yet am looking through my collection of tanks,am sure i can make something work.will keep you posted.
