Do I need to cover the overcut hinge line?

Hello all,
On the trailing edges and leading edges of my ARF the monocote is sliced out for the hinges, but it's cut about 3/4" extra on both sides where the hinge goes. I ironed it down but you still see the seperation and I believe it will evenutally come loose. Is this something of concern? do I leave it alone? I was thinking of putting a small piece of monocote and patch it up to the hinge. Any suggestions.
Thank you,
Pat

Just run a bead of thin CA along the cut line to seal both edges.

Thank you for the reply Karol. Since this is my first ARF I want't to be pretty precise and really do a good job. Does anyone else put a strip of monocote along the trailing edge or glueing is the norm.
Thanks,
Pat

You can monocote over the hinge line- its called sealing the hinge gap. Simply deflect the control surface all the way and the iron the monokote over the hinge. Doing so on one side is enough from aerodynamic POV but if you want, you can do both upper and lower surfaces for better looks. If you dont care much about looks, you can simply duct tape over instead of the monokote.
